Villa Azur Roasted Dates Recipe
Stuffed dates can be traced back to the Roman Empire and it fascinates me there is no lack of variations of this sweet and savory treat in all that time. Villa Azur has a unique take on roasted dates that your next dinner party needs!
Ingredients
- 36 pitted dry dates
- 12 slices Bayonne prosciutto
- 4 ounces Manchego cheese
- 1/2 Tbsp. honey
- 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions
- Melt half of the Manchego cheese with heavy cream, salt and pepper in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Take that mixture and cimbone in a blender and then chill.
- Stuff the dates with the remaining Manchego, about 2 grams per date
- Wrap the dates, 3 by 3, with one slice of prosciutto
- Bake the dates in a 40 degree oven, then top with honey and rebake for about 1 minute
- Plate your dates atop some of the chilled dressing
