Restaurant Opening | CHAR’D Brisket Dogs + Burgers Coming to Tempe

Posted on: August 27th, 2018 by Taryn Jeffries No Comments

You already know that I have a serious foodie love affair with poke. It’s been documented here on the website as well as countless times on my social media accounts. But what’s a girl to do when one of her favorite poke spots is planning on opening a hot dog and burger joint? Get stoked for the opening of CHAR’D Brisket Dogs + Burgers, of course!

Ahipoki owners Jason Jantzen and Michael Zimmerman have seen huge success with explosive growth over the last two years. They are now looking to branch out with their newest concept. CHAR’D Brisket Dogs + Burgers will be a bit of a departure from the health consciousness of Ahipoki, with more of a focus on high-end comfort food with a bit of west coast flair.

“CHAR’D really represents a growing west coast food movement that embodies elevated variations of traditional comfort food prepared made-to-order in a fun, quick-serve setting,” explained Zimmerman.

CHAR’D will feature a variety of burger and hot dogs all made from brisket and fresh made chef-driven toppings. You can expect a variety of hearty options like:

  • Mac ‘N Cheese Dog | you can figure this one out
  • Cali Dog | topped with avocado, tomatoes and pesto sauce
  • The Growler | topped with fries, cheese sauce and bacon
  • Sonoran Dog | topped with bacon, grilled onions, jalapenos and house-made chipotle aioli

While there is not a lot of information regarding the type of burgers that will be on the menu, we have heard tell of a man ‘n cheese burger that promises to be a cheese lovers dream.

CHAR’D will be located in Tempe, right next door to their Ahipoki location on Rural. We can’t wait to check them out as soon as they open their doors, which looks like it will be September.
