TRES Restaurant to Open in Tempe
TRES Restaurant is set to open its doors on Friday, Feb. 16 with a standout menu that blends the robust flavors of the desert southwest, Spain and the Mediterranean. Located in the Discovery Office Park at 7200 South Price Road, TRES’ menu has a fresh and vibrant take on regional favorites. TRES will be open Feb. 16-18 starting at 3pm and through 11pm (serving Happy Hour and dinner service). Beginning Monday, Feb. 19, (and ongoing) TRES Restaurant will be open daily from 11am until 11pm.
Named for three styles of eating at the restaurant, TRES offers dinners, quick bites or full meals during lunch, light bites during happy hour and a varied dinner approach that appeals to bar patrons, single diners, groups, and families. A highlight of the restaurant is a large bar that will serve as a community gathering space for a vibrant, happy hour scene, craft cocktails, and extensive wine and beer offerings.
Executive Chef Steve Zimmerman said, “We are combining traditional and familiar southwestern and Mexican flavors with the light, healthy and popular dishes found in the Mediterranean region. It’s a very unique menu that is geared to our neighbors’ palates.”
Much of TRES Restaurant’s diverse menu is created using the wood-burning oven, a focal point of the restaurant, and is aimed at offering fresh options at a fair price to local tech employees, neighbors, and visitors alike. Three sizes of plates (paying homage to the name TRES) are offered, including small tasting plates serving as starters, tapas or light bites to pair with a cocktail, medium entrée plates such as salads, sandwiches, and more substantial portions to meet the cravings of any diner, and large sharing plates (a.k.a. wood-oven feasts) designed for groups to share. A wide selection of artisan meats and cheese are also available for guests to build their own, with sizing options in small ($17 for one to two people), medium ($27 for three to four people) and large ($46 for five to seven people). Additional meats and cheese can be added for $5 each, while other items such as nuts, olives, and chilies can be added for $3 each.
From small plates to large, TRES Restaurant’s innovative menu includes items such as Blistered Shishito Peppers ($8), Bacon Wrapped Medjool Dates ($8), Spicy Lamb Merguez Sliders ($14), Rueben Cuban ($15), TRES Burger ($15), Salmon Papillote ($24), Paella Valenciana ($66), and Canoe Bone Beef Osso Bucco ($59). To wet the whistle, TRES features beer, wine and mescal flights ranging from $7 to $11, an extensive wine selection, sangrias and margaritas, spirit-free cocktails, and a specialty craft cocktail menu with highlights such as the Pineapple Hibiscus Cooler ($10), Spiced Pear Sour ($12) and the Blood Orange Basito ($10). Guests can even build their own mule for just $8.
TRES Restaurant’s interior design reveals a clean, modern dining environment where industrial chic finds union with a cool, crisp Mediterranean and Southwestern palate. The interiors are brought to life through bold design elements including an open kitchen experience and the activity surrounding the focal bar, a lively place for guests to enjoy happy hour with coworkers, make new friends while enjoying a hip vibe, refreshing cocktails, and delicious bites.
TRES Restaurant’s energy and activity flow through the interior and the exterior, where a spacious courtyard provides a variety of dining experiences, from the lounge to communal tables to traditional dining, all in an airy and open al fresco atmosphere. The patios feature games like corn hole and bocce ball meant to foster friendships and community!
