Catch the last day of the Ginger Monkey 10 cent drink special and check out their new monsoon themed cocktails for August!

GINGER MONKEY 10 CENT DRINK SPECIAL (& MONSOON THEMED COCKTAILS!)A week or so ago I sat on my patio with my boys, listening to music that the tween likes and our serene backyard sanctuary exploded with all the intensity that the summer monsoon holds within its grasp. We were whipped in the face with a few stray leaves and sprayed with the unleashing of the skies. It was glorious. I realize that our monsoons can prove to be quite formidable in certain situations, but from the shelter of our backyard we regarded this immediate change of weather with reverence and a touch of admiration.

Ginger Monkey in Chandler is all about embracing that power as well, in a bit of a different way, but we’ll take it! Earlier this month they drew national attention when they announced that they would offer 10 cent drinks when the temperature hit 110 in July. The deal let patrons get their first drink (a domestic draft, well drink or any non-alcoholic drink) for only 10 cents.

“Weather forecasts call for below normal temps through the end of July, but we wanted to continue celebrating one of the hottest months in years by offering everyone’s first drink on July 31 for 10 cents,” said Ginger Monkey co-owner Jackson Armstrong.

Not ones to leave you hanging, Ginger Monkey is all about keeping the party going, they have two great storm themed cocktails that will be available during the month of August.

Ginger Monkey’s Storm Themed Cocktails

Check out the Dark N’ Stormy made with dark rum and Ginger beer. Or you can try out their Monsoon Mule which is a combination of vodka, lime juice and ginger beer. Both cocktails will be available in August for only $6 a piece.

Ginger Monkey Monsoon Themed CocktailsI’ve been to Ginger Monkey a few times and have really enjoyed the food. I love the clever takes on classic dishes that you can get here. If you visit, make sure to get their deviled eggs. I love the addition of pesto crispy pancetta. That extra bit of saltiness really puts these bite-sized treats over the top and lands them on my top five of favorite apps in AZ.

Ginger Monkey Pesto Deviled EggsAnother one of my favorites on their menu is their Hawaiian style ahi tuna poke. If you’ve read any of my articles before you likely know that I am a sucker for poke and this version is one of my favorites. The poke is made up of all the usual suspects but has some added interest because of the radish sprouts and sriracha mayo. The radish sprouts give an extra peppery element and that sriracha mayo adds creaminess and a healthy kick!

Ginger Monkey PokeWhether you head in tomorrow to take advantage of those 10 cent drinks or next month for their storm-themed cocktails, make sure to take some time to check out their menu. I also have an insider tip for you, be sure to ask about their house-wine… which isn’t wine at all.
