Friday Bites With Omar and Fares Tarabichi

Posted on: November 25th, 2016 by Taryn Jeffries 1 Comment

I recently had a chance to meet up with Omar and Fares Tarabichi at their restaurant The Crepe Club for what has to be one of my favorite interviews. The brothers shared so much with me about how The Crepe Club came about and their very exciting plans for the future, which you will read about very soon. One thing that resonated throughout the interview was their connection to the community. As a small business that out with just one crepe cart on the ASU campus, they are now branching out by the end of the year will have four brick and mortar locations, they know the value and importance of community support. This makes them the perfect addition to our Friday Bites feature.

While all the Tarabichi brothers are working tirelessly to catapult their dreams into reality, they somehow find the time to visit other local restaurants and they have shared with us some of their favorites.

Friday Bites With Omar and Fares Tarabichi

Friday Bites with Omar and Fares Tarabichi_phoenixbites.comBest Patio Dining

Fares | House of Tricks
Their patio is great. I love all the green around me, the tree and the environment there. It’s classic and very romantic.
Omar | LON’s at the Hermosa Inn
I just love sitting out on the patio at LON’s, enjoying dinner and then some after dinner drinks. Sitting on the patio beside the fire is just great.

Best Place to Impress Out of Towners

Fares | True Food Kitchen
I think all of Sam Fox’s restaurants could fit into this category. They all have this really structured corporate feel, but they’re local. True Food Kitchen is really spectacular. The food is delicious and healthy and the environment is really greats.
Omar | SumoMaya
I would say that something in Arizona has to have that Mexican-American influence and I think that SumoMaya does a great job of fusing Mexican and Japanese flavors. The atmosphere there is really great, too. It can get a little loud, so it is not for everyone, but it creates a really great vibe on the weekend.

Best Place For Cocktails

Fares | The Handlebar
At Handlebar it is all about the people there. The bartenders, the staff, and management; it is family. They always treat you like family. It is very hip and so different from anything else you’ll find on Mill.
Omar | AZ88
AZ88 has a great selection of cocktails, any drink that you can think of. They have great mixologists as well as some great light foods that pair well with their drinks, not too overpowering or fancy.

Most Iconic Arizona

Omar | LON’s at the Hermosa Inn
LONS’s has so much history. If you’ve been in the wine cellar, there’s just so much history, from the property to the artwork, its just great.
Fares | The Weatherford Hotel
The Weatherford Hotel in Flagstaff is rich with history. The hotel itself is fantastic and they have this great balcony that is perfect for people watching and catching the parade. They have the best bloody Mary’s. It’s definitely one of my favorite places in Arizona.

Best Desserts

Fares | Delice Bistro
They have this amazing macaron cake that is always selling out. They also have great almond croissants that are just like the ones you’ll find in Paris.
Omar | Oregano’s Pizza Bistro
I really love the pizzookie at Oregano’s. You can’t go wrong with the melted ice cream on that hot chocolate chip cookie dough. It’s definitely one of my favorite desserts.

If you want to learn more about the brothers make sure to check out all the great sweet and savory dishes they are serving at all of their Crepe Club locations.
