Summer Staycation Giveaway with The Scottsdale Plaza Resort

Posted on: July 16th, 2015 by Taryn Jeffries 3 Comments

It’s not breaking news that it’s hot in the summer in Arizona. We all know that it’s hot enough to bake cookies on your dashboard and evenfry an egg on the asphalt. Friends and family don’t typically visit during the summer. So where is the reward? Summer Staycations!!Summer Heat

You probably have your own backyard pool and comfy linens in your boudoir, but there is something magical about a Summer Staycation. You get to take a break from the day to day and routine of your real life and scoot away to a luxurious setting and be catered to. Crank the air, lather on the sunscreen and grab a stand-out spot by the pool and let someone else to all the heavy lifting.

A great spot to settle into your Summer Staycation is at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort. The resort is centrally located in Scottsdale which means you are close to nightlife if you’re looking to rev things up after a day of relaxing and pampering yourself. On the flip side, the resort is situated just enough out of the hustle and bustle of Scottsdale to provide the feeling of being in your own little world. You’ll find yourself looking out onto the majestic views of Camelback Mountain and surrounded by the beauty of indigenous plants and flowers of our beloved dessert.

Check out some of the best features of the resort.

Rooms
The resort is a beautiful melding of Sonoran Design and Mediterranean style that translates from the welcoming reception, the architecture and all the way to the guest rooms. The resort offers a variety of accommodations from Superior Guest Rooms to King Suites, Villa and Patio Suites to Bi-level Suites, luxurious Sonoran and Monte Vista Lodges as well as the pinnacle of luxury in the Vice and Presidential Suites. No matter your room selection you’ll find spacious accommodations, luxury linens and posh accoutrements. You’ll also enjoy wi-fi, mini-fridge, full length wardrobe mirror, flat-screen television, plush terry robes and in –room safe. In addition, your room, no matter the property location, is just a short walk away from one of five pools.

Salon & Day Spa
To make sure that your stay is a lavish and tranquil one, make sure to plan a trip to the spa. The salon offers a full menu of services from waxing to manicures and pedicures as well hair and make-up services.

The Day Spa offers a wide variety of services and packages fit for both men and women, or both (couples massage, anyone?). The Girlfriend Getaway package caught my eye; you receive a 50 minute Swedish or Therapeutic Deep Tissue Massage and a Spa Manicure and Pedicure. You’ll even receive a complimentary cocktail to enjoy during your treatment.

Speaking of massages, as someone who (sadly) has never had a full blown settle in and almost fall asleep massage, the variety of massages in the Day Spa just sound dreamy! You have choice of 7 different types of massages and from their services menu, the Desert Stone Massage drew me in; warm basalt rocks induce deep relaxation and enhance the cleansing process and tone cellular tissue.

Dining
Whether you are looking for in room service, a quiet spot for breakfast, a festive local for watching your favorite game or a place to get a little dressed up and enjoy a five-star experience dinner, the resort has you covered.

Room Service can be ordered from three of the resort’s restaurants between 6am and midnight.
The Garden Court Restaurant offers a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a cup of coffee or breakfast buffet or a la carte items ranging from decadent to light options.

J.D.’s Lounge has been masterfully created to be inviting hangout, perfect for catching your favorite game and noshing on your favorite foods. You’re greeted with complimentary popcorn while you peruse the menu for that just right item to satisfy your craving whether that is beer battered shrimp or spicy wings. If you just can’t decide between all the options, belly up to the Sampler Platter for a little taste of everything.

Remington’s offers a more elegant setting for your dining experience. The menu highlights New American cuisine with a hint of French influence. The dinner menu features a variety of steakhouse items like Filet Mignon, Rack of Lamb or Mesquite Grilled Buffalo Ribeye. The menu also features several gluten free and vegetarian options, so all diners are welcomed.
