Amy’s Goodbye

Posted on: June 14th, 2014 by Amy Martin No Comments

Amy MartinChange is inevitable and as much as I have tried to avoid change throughout my life ‘cause I don’t like it one bit, I’ve come to realize that change can be good… and there are some big changes ahead for me. In fact, I could use a little change right about now!

Some of you may know that I’ve dealt with numerous health struggles over the past couple of years and in effort to get these issues taken care of, my family has decided to move back to my home state—Oklahoma—for the health care I am offered there. With this move comes a lot of reorganization in many different areas of my life… especially with PhoenixBites. I have enjoyed every minute of sharing my food and dining experiences with you all and am grateful for all of the experiences I’ve been lucky to be a part of in the Phoenix food community. Leaving PhoenixBites is such a bittersweet decision, but I know there are different plans for me in my immediate future. The friendships I have made through this outlet will not be lost.

I’m excited to follow the future of PhoenixBites as a fan and a reader and can’t wait to see what Taryn has in store for the site. Working together with her the last few years and growing our friendship through this food journey has been such a fun experience that I will never forget and I wish her the best of luck in continuing PB here in Phoenix… not that she will need it!

Once I’m settled in my new digs and my body starts functioning normally again, I will be launching a new site—HerPlate.com—where I will be able to pen my thoughts in an outlet that will be a bit more personal and reflective. I’m excited about this new opportunity to still share my love of food with family-friendly recipes and my favorite kitchen products while giving a peek into the personal side of things (like how I attempt to juggle keeping my 4-year-old entertained and creating fun memories with her). I’m pretty sure she’s way more popular than I am (ha!) and I’m excited to focus a big part of this new site on things her and I do as a duo.

If you’d like to keep in touch, I’d love to connect with you on Twitter and Facebook.

I sincerely thank every one of you for your support throughout the years and can’t wait to see what is in store for everyone’s future.

And Taryn: thank you THANK YOU for standing with me in all of the craziness. Your friendship means more than you know and I’m so excited to watch on and see what you make of all of this!
