March Madness Gets Cheesy with the Ultimate Burrito Showdown
I’ll admit it; I don’t follow basketball, so this whole March Madness thing is kind of lost on me. I do, however, love how people get fired up about their particular sport of choice, but what I love even more is when restaurants get in on the action. This week the Arizona Restaurant Association will launch the Ultimate Burrito Showdown. Burrito lovers across the state are invited to head over to Facebook and place their predictions on who will be the ultimate tasty winner. The “Sloppy 16” will eventually be whittled down to the “Edible 8”, then the “Flavorful 4” and ultimately the best burrito in the Valley will be named in this delicious bracket.
“We really wanted to do something fun to celebrate the flavors and cuisine of Arizona as a precursor to this year’s Spring Arizona Restaurant Week,” said Steve Chucri, president of Arizona Restaurant Association. “As Arizonans, we are passionate about our food and proud of our culinary influences – what could be better than an extra way to celebrate March Madness with a little healthy competition among the best Mexican restaurants in the state?”
Beginning on March 25th and 26th, Facebook users are invited to submit their predictions and can win prizes courtesy of the Arizona Restaurant Association and the Arizona Office of Tourism. Match ups will be revealed daily. So the question is–which of these restaurants do you think has the Ultimate Burrito?
