Turkey Day Take-Away 2013

This year I am committing to making two turkeys two separate ways as well as all of the things you expect to see at the holiday table. It’s a lot of work and I rarely get the timing perfect. If you’re the same as me or just want to take a break this year, here are 8 local restaurants that are here to save the day!!

• The Arizona Biltmore

Where: 2400 East Missouri, Phoenix

When: Orders can be placed through 11/25/13 and can be picked up on 11/27/13 between 3pm and 5pm.

Details: What could be better than a complete Thanksgiving meal? One prepared by gourmet chefs, of course! Get a complete meal for 10 people with a choice of turkey, ham or prime rib for your main course. You’ll also receive gravy, stuffing, string beans, mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce along with pumpkin and key lime pies.

Cost: $195 for the turkey or ham selection and $245 when you select prime rib

• Beckett’s Table

Where: 3717 East Indian School Road, Phoenix

When: Pick up will be on 11/27/13 from 11am to 6pm

Details: Chef Beckett is known for some pretty phenomenal pies and you can be extra thankful this year that you have the option to purchase his award-winning Fig and Pecan Pieas well as pints of house made Citrus Ice Cream.

Cost: The pies are $28 each and the ice cream pints are $7 each

• Bobby-Q Great Steaks & Real BBQ

Where: 8501 North 27th Avenue, Phoenix

When: Call ASAP to place your order!
Details: Let Bobby-Q’s do all the hard work and order your whole meal; complete with a 12-15 pound smoked turkey and all the sides you’re accustomed to. Your pre-made turkey will be hand-rubbed with a special blend of spices and then roasted over hickory wood. If you opt for the sides, you’ll get eight pieces of cornbread, a pint of gravy, a quart of fire roasted corn, and a quart of mashed potatoes. You can also special order smoked walnut stuffing and smoked turkey gravy (this special order will be available only on 11/27)
Cost: $45 for the turkey and and $65 will get you the turkey and sides

• The Herb Box

Where: 7134 East Stetson Drive, Scottsdale
When: Orders need to be placed by 5pm on 11/25/13 and orders can be picked up on 11/27/13 between 11am and 5pm

Details: Spend more time enjoying the company of friends and family this holiday season when you pick up a Thanksgiving dinner from The Herb Box. To either create a complete meal or compliment some of your own homemade creations, select from a variety of side dishes and desserts, plus roasted turkey.

• La Grande Orange Grocery

Where: 4110 North 40th Street, Phoenix

When: Orders must be placed by 11/25/13

Details: Treat yourself to a whole roasted free-range turkey, house made gravy, sourdough and cornbread stuffing, cranberry sauce, salads, casseroles, dinner rolls and even pies.
Cost: A la carte or the dinner can range from $200 to $295 for 6-8 people

When: Through 11/27/13 with a 48 hour notice

Details: Proof is offering up “Pies and Sides”, an easy alternative to all those pesky items that take the most time and attention. You can choose from buttermilk mashed potatoes with gravy and an assortment of pies and many things in between.

Cost: All items are sold a la carte

• Tonto Bar & Grill

Where: 5736 E. Rancho Mañana Blvd., Cave Creek

When: Reservations will be taken through 9pm on 11/24/13

Details: Treat your family to a complete holiday meal with all the fixings! Indulge in a slow roasted turkey, whipped potatoes, sweet potatoes adorned with brown sugar and pecans, sage stuffing, sage giblet gravy, homemade cranberry and orange ginger relish, green beans, herb rolls, honey butter, pumpkin pie, sweet potato chutney along with a chocolate walnut caramel tartlet. You will be provided with reheating instructions. They will also have gluten-free,vegan and vegetarian options. You can pick up your complete meal on 11/27/13 at a scheduled time between 2pm and 6pm. You can also order an array of dishes a la cart.

• Vogue Bistro

Where: 15411 West Waddell Road, Surprise

When: Order by 5pm on 11/25/13 and you can pick up on 11/28/13 after 11am

Details: Order a delicious three-course holiday meal with plenty of options from Vogue Bistro. Opt between pumpkin soup or an autumn salad; New York steak, Alaskan salmon fillet or a turkey breast roulade; and finish with your choice of dessert.
Cost: $39.95 per person and $6.99 for kids
