Oh My Gourd!

Posted on: October 8th, 2013 by Taryn Jeffries No Comments

It’s that time of the year again! With the first week of October now behind us it is now “Pumpkin Everything” time.

With pumpkins being 90 percent water, they make a perfect base for a cocktail. Executive Chef Admir Alibasic of Ben & Jack’s Steakhouse has created a tempting Pumpkin Cocktail. You can find the cocktail on the menu for $12.95 regularly or for $7.95 during happy hour…or you can give a go at trying to mix it up yourself with the below recipe.

Ben & Jack’s Pumpkin Cocktail

  • 1 ounce maple whisky
  • 2 ounces vanilla vodka
  • 1 tsp. pumpkin spice
  • ½ ounce simple syrup
  • Splash hazelnut liqueur
  • graham cracker crumbs
  • Ice
  • Cinnamon stick

Directions:

  1. Spread a layer of graham cracker crumbs on a saucer. Press cocktail glass rim into the graham cracker crumbs.
  2. In a shaker tin, add ice, maple whisky, hazelnut liqueur, vanilla vodka, simple syrup and pumpkin spice. Shake vigorously. Double strain into the cocktail glass and garnish with a cinnamon stick.

Ben & Jack’s Steakhouse is located at 4180 North Drinkwater Boulevard in Old Town Scottsdale.
