Modern Furniture Warehouse: Gifts for everyone in the family

Posted on: November 1st, 2012 by Amy Martin 1 Comment

With the biggest gift-giving season of the year just around the corner, it’s time to pull out your pen and paper, jot down your gift ideas and make your own Christmas wish list. Modern Furniture Warehouse carries a pretty huge selection of housewares, furniture, kitchen products and even toys for the kiddos.
I’ve spent hours browsing their kitchen items (which always makes up at least 75% of my Christmas list) and have picked a few favorites from table sets like this one I love:

…and these Black and White Giraffe Serving Trays that I know a few of my friends would go crazy over:

In addition to kitchen ‘novelties’, they’ve got a huge selection of bakeware, cookware, utensils and gadgets, and even small appliances.

If given an unlimited budget, I could probably refurnish and decorate my entire house just on this site – with no need to visit any other store. The company behind the Modern Furniture Warehouse name began in 2006 with a mission of offering a wide selection of high quality home furnishings to suit any taste, and they certainly do offer a multitude of products. Today, they run many specialty housewares sites and carry countless brands.

One brand you’ll see often in their kitchen ‘department’ is Cuisinox, Canadian makers of professional stainless steel cookware and kitchen items. I had the chance to test a product offered on the website – the Cuisinox Electra 11×11 inch Grill Pan.

I’ll admit I’m a little too chicken to handle big, outdoor grills and usually leave the fire-playing to the boys. But indoor cooking, that’s all me. I’m not a fan of countertop indoor grills as I like to cook stovetop only, so a grill pan like this one helps me get the job done without a huge fire (or accident).

The Cuisinox Electra Cast Aluminum Grill Pan prevents food from sticking which also makes cleanup super easy (after my faux grilling session, I only had to do a quick wipe-down with a sponge before tossing in the dishwasher) and also eliminates the need for any extra fat or oils since it’s non-stick (meaning, healthier cooking).

The 11×11 inch size was big enough to “grill” four decent-sized burgers or a couple chicken breasts. The handle was comfortable to grasp, never burned my hands (and this pan can really handle some heat!), and is ergonomically-designed.

The best part of all? I got those grill marks I’ve been missing on my burgers and nice ridges in my hot-grilled sourdough sandwiches. Every home cook should have a grill plan if they’re wary of playing with fire.

  1. It’s an hour I was browsing through various sites but was unable to find the perfect table setting, but I think that I made my decision. This blog helps me out with my problem. Can you please suggest me from where I can get these table sets ,and also tell me the price for that one.
