Giveaway: Enter to Win a Copy of “150 Best Slow Cooker Recipes” Cookbook

Posted on: October 11th, 2011 by Amy Martin No Comments

THIS GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED. Congrats to our winner, Kim N!

We are very excited to announce a giveaway with Robert Rose, publishers of award-winning and best-selling cookbooks and health books designed to make life easier. One of our readers will win a copy of The 150 Best Slow Cooker Recipes by Judith Finlayson.

About the author: Judith Finlayson believes strongly that eating is one of life’s greatest pleasures. As a food-writer and journalist, she has spent much of her life seeking out memorable food experiences. Her other best-selling cookbooks include The Healthy Slow Cooker, 175 Essential Slow Cooker Classics, The Complete Whole Grains Cookbook, and Delicious and Dependable Slow Cooker. She lives with her husband and daughter in Toronto.  Judith also has 750 Best Appetizer Recipes releasing this Fall.

We recently had the opportunity to review the cookbook ourselves:

The 150 Best Slow Cooker Recipes cookbook (second edition) offers nearly 100 original favorite recipes from the first edition, plus an additional 15 new recipes, carefully sourced and chosen by Judith from some of her previous bestsellers. In a world where there are never enough hours in a day, an interest in slow cooker recipes has become increasingly popular. Is there anything better than creating a delicious one-pot meal (that usually includes leftovers!) with little to no active cooking? Specifically, the book offers many recipes perfect for entertaining… which will lend you more time to tidy up the house, chat with your guests and keep a clean kitchen. The book includes more fish, seafood, vegetarian/vegan, and whole-grain recipes than the original, as people are constantly searching for lighter, healthier options these day. Some of the recipes you’ll find include: Pumpkin Soup with Shrimp and Lime, Short Ribs with Orange Gremolata, Chinese-Style Braised Pork, Mushroom and Artichoke Lasagna, and Delectable Apple-Cranberry Coconut Crisp.

We cooked through a few recipes in our own kitchen including two of our favorites: Mom’s Chicken Noodle Soup and Classic Boeuf Bourguignon. Both recipes were delicious (and especially fragrant, slowcooking in our kitchen) and needed no adjustments. Comfort food at its absolute finest!

You can find your own copy of 150 Best Slow Cooker Recipes and several other titles in the United States and Canada at Barnes & Noble, Borders and many local independent bookstores.
