Studio Vino Hosts Wine Tasting to Benefit Casting for Recovery
Casting for Recovery is a unique and inspiring organization. Founded in Manchester, Vermont in 1996 by a breast cancer reconstructive surgeon and a professional fly fisher, Casting for Recovery quickly morphed from a grassroots group to a nation-wide program assisting and inspiring thousands of women.
The organization provides cancer survivors one weekend, free from stress and worries that often accompany treatment and recovery efforts at no charge, to share in a new experience in gorgeous surroundings in a safe and nurturing environment.
The effects of cancer can, at times, be all encompassing – affecting every area of life. The retreats provided and organized by Casting for Recovery allow attendees to learn how to fly fish (fly-fishing has been proven to help exercise the muscles sometimes compromised by surgery relating to breast cancer) as well as have the opportunity to meet new friends, share stories and experiences and have a lot of fun.
On October 1st, from 6-10pm, Studio Vino is hosting a wine tasting with food pairings benefiting Casting for Recovery Arizona. Tickets will be $40 per person. All proceeds from the evening will stay in Arizona.
