Bobble: An Eco-Friendly Alternative for Bottled Water

Posted on: September 28th, 2011 by Amy Martin No Comments

Ever used a Bobble? Bobble, created by Move Collective, is a patented, reusable water bottle that filters water as you drink. Its unique design removes chlorine and organic contaminants from tap water, reducing the need for plastic bottle waste. Americans spend over $15 billion every year on bottled water. Most plastic bottles are discarded without thought and leave its damaging footprint on the environment. Bobble is reusable and intended for everyday use, and made of recycled plastic. Bobble’s activated carbon filter must be replaced every 2-3 months or after filtering approximately 40 gallons of water. A single Bobble filter equates to at least 300 water bottles, lessening the environmental impact of that single-serve water bottle many Americans purchase regularly. Depending on how many bottles of water you purchase every couple of months, it might save you some cash too.

We compared Bobble’s filtered water with other water filters and bottled water and found no difference in taste (and we’re picky too… no tap!). Not to mention, the Bobble is more attractive than branded bottles…

Bobble is available in various colors and sizes. The original 18.5oz size typically retails for $9.99. Replacement filters are priced at $6.99. They can be purchased online at waterbobble.com or at various retailers including Container Store, Macy’s and Target.
