2010 Sanctuary’s Lunch & Learn summer program line up

Posted on: July 28th, 2010 by Amy Martin No Comments

This year, Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain, a prestigious luxury resort, completed a multi-million dollar transformation to its award-winning restaurant, Elements. You may recognize Sanctuary’s Executive Chef Beau MacMillan, a culinary master, as he is the co-host of Food Network’s hit show, Worst Cooks in America. Now, you can experience his delicious creations and learn how to make them yourself at home during the new “Lunch & Learn” summer program.

The “Lunch & Learn” series offers its attendees an afternoon of cooking and conversation with Chef Beau and other culinary masters. Classes are held on Saturdays from noon to 2:30pm and will include a 3-course meal with take home recipes for $65 per person including tax and gratuity.

The 2010 Lunch & Learn Line Up

Saturday, July 17: “Finding Francois ” with de Melogue and Klindt

This special class will reunite Chef MacMillan with his first culinary mentor, Chef de Melogue, who took MacMillan under his wing at the tender age of 16 in Carver, Massachusetts. More than a few years later, they will once again share the kitchen, reminiscing over recipes inspired by Southern France with winemaker Robert Klindt of Claudia Springs Winery in California’s Anderson Valley, where Chef de Melogue currently presides as Chef.

Saturday, August 7: “Pocket Aces” with Chef Back

Chef Back may have the edge as she goes head-to-head with Chef MacMillan, dealing up her award-winning Japanese cuisine, which ranges from authentic traditional fare to modern interpretations thereof. Place your bets on an afternoon to remember.

Saturday, August 14: “Five Star Flavors” with Chef Stratta

Leading the charge of a Forbes Travel Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond award-winning restaurant, Chef Stratta knows a thing or two about keeping cool under pressure. During this interactive lunch, he’ll share his tips for recreating a five-star meal at home–the perfect “how to” guide for impressive entertaining.

Saturday, August 21: “The Fish Master” with Chef Cimarusti

This special Saturday session will take place as an evening event, exulting the bounties of the sea. Guests will be treated to the musings of Chef Cimarusti, an avid fisherman who competed in Bravo’s Top Chef Masters and beat Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto in “Battle Blackfish” on Food Network’s Iron Chef America competition.

Saturday, August 28: “Spectacular Spa Cuisine” with Chef Uehlein

Inspired by the tranquil environs–and world-class spa–at Sanctuary, Chefs Uehlein and MacMillan will impress guests with a menu of deliciously healthy recipes. Taste buds will be both tempted and fooled by the surprisingly decadent, yet figure-friendly fare.
