Friday Bites With Geeks Who Eat

Posted on: January 29th, 2016 by Taryn Jeffries No Comments

Within the course of media events and restaurant openings we have the opportunity to meet new and interesting people; people who share the same passion for food and supporting local business that we do. We have been seeing a lot of Sarah and Matt of Geeks Who Eat lately, and have really enjoyed getting to know them. Both self-proclaimed geeks, this sweet couple bring a love of food and geek culture, melding the two to create a fun blog in which they both share their opinions and viewpoints on our food culture, interesting products and their own recipe creations. Check out some of their favorite spots in the Valley.Friday Bites with Geeks Who Eat

Friday Bites with Geeks Who Eat

Best Outdoor Patio: O.H.S.O. Paradise Valley Outdoor patio games, inexpensive local tap beers, and a dog friendly patio, it doesn’t get much better than that when it comes to day drinking! They also serve great brunch on the weekend!

Authentic Arizona: Los Olivos Old Town If you want authentic Sonoran style Mexican food Los Olivos is the place. The fact that it has been around so long is proof positive that this is the real deal!

Best Nightlife: The Beverly The Beverly is a cocktail bar that feels like Cheers. The bartenders remember the regulars and what they like to drink, the attention to detail is impeccable and while the food menu isn’t huge, the deviled eggs are to die for!

Late night Eats: Wadaa Street Tacos Nestled in the downtown Scottsdale party scene, this street tacos stand offers standing room only but some of the best tacos we have ever had! You know its legit when your options are only chicken and beef!

Seafood: Walrus and the Pearl As one of the options tucked into DeSoto Central Market, you are doing yourself a disservice if you don’t try the oysters at Walrus and the Pearl. With a menu based on what comes in fresh you are sure to have a different experience each time you dine there!

**Geeks Who Eat Bonus!**

Geeks Who Eat are competing in the Hickman’s Eggs Perfect Game Day Snack Competition and they were kind enough to share their submitted Diego Deviled Egg Recipe with us. Sarah shared with me all the testing that went into the recipe and I have every confidence that it will be a crowd pleaser!
