Phoenix Bites 2020 Valentine’s Day Dining Guide

I know, I know. Valentine’s Day is a superficial holiday intended to sell some greeting cards and chocolate. Even knowing that it can be a good excuse to get a little fancy and share a romantic meal with a loved one. If you’re looking for some spots to get romantic and full, we’ve got a few suggestions right here in our 2020 Valentine’s Day dining guide

Phoenix Bites 2020 Valentine’s Day Dining Guide

The Americano

Celebrate a “valentino romantico” at the newest contemporary Italian Steakhouse, The Americano from Pomo Restaurant Group. The Americano will be offering a five-course menu for $105 per person, with optional wine pairings. The evening will begin with oyster and caviar and for the appetizer, guests can choose either soup Amèricaine, with lobster medallion, roasted chestnut and vanilla cream; eggplant arrostito, with whipped ricotta, marinated tomato, cara cara orange and herb crumble; or spinach and friseè, with warn guanciale vinaigrette, coddled egg yolk, pecorino romano and crispy shallot. There will also be pasta for two, with options of gnocchi piemontesi, with Arizona-grown potato, seasonal tru le, mushroom arrostito and parmigiano fonduta; or rigatoni sasiccia, with Arcadia Meat Market sausage, pequillo ragu, pomodoro and ricotta salata. For the main course, guests may choose between a 6 oz certified Piemontese Cattle Nebraska petit filet, 14 oz New York Niman Ranch Farms prime beef, turbot “almondine”, with sauce Amèricaine and wild mushroom or cider-cured Liberty Farms duck breast, with fennel soubise and cider jus. The evening will end on a sweet note, with dessert for two, The Americano roche, with Gianduia chocolate mousse, praline ganache and candied hazelnut. 17797 N. Beckett’s Table

Beckett’s Table is celebrating Valentine’s Day with a special 3-course prix fixe menu for $55 per person (not including tax or gratuity.) Entree options include fork-tender short rib, wood oven-roasted chicken, seared sea scallops, pan-seared barramundi or a local organic vegetable plate. Guests can add on a 3-course wine pairing for an additional $30 to the $55 cost of the dinner. 3717 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix; 602.954.1700

Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails

This Valentine’s Day, skip the standard roses and chocolates and spend time with that special someone at Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails. Under the direction of Executive Chef Dushyant Singh, Blue Hound will be offering a decadent four-course meal for the occasion. Some standouts include your choice of scallop crudo with green gazpacho, calabrian chile relish, pickled kumquats, Persian cucumber and micro flowers, burrata cheese with Noble bread, cured tomato, radish, basil caviar and celery leaf; herb crusted lamb rack with black trumpet tortellini, braised cipollini, glazed turnips and porter demi; and white chocolate molten cake with rose sorbet, raspberry gel, white chocolate pearls and black pepper crumble. Cholla Prime Steakhouse & Lounge

In addition to its regular menu, Casino Arizona’s hidden gem, Cholla Prime Steakhouse and Lounge will offer a prix fixe menu for $38 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Valentine’s Day.  The menu will start with a choice of bruschetta with mascarpone cheese, prosciutto, heirloom tomato, chives and honey balsamic or a radicchio frisee apple walnut salad with pomegranate vinaigrette. The main course is bacon wrapped filet mignon oscar with crab, asparagus and bearnaise duchess potatoes. Dessert will feature a red fruit mousse dome. Copper Mule Kitchen & Bar

The newly opened Copper Mule Kitchen & Bar in Scottsdale invites lovers to sink their teeth into the restaurant’s exclusive four-course menu crafted to ignite romance on Valentine’s Day. Diners can enjoy the following courses designed for two including caprese skewers, a heart island shrimp salad, your choice of lemon pepper grilled chicken or Kentucky Trail strip steak along with a strawberry short bundt cake. Kai

Say “I love you” and treat your sweetheart to a world-class dining experience at Kai, Arizona’s only Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond rated restaurant. The indigenous fare and breathtaking views will make this year’s Valentine’s Day your most memorable yet. Chef Ryan Swanson has prepared an exquisite eight-course tasting menu that will be offered on Friday, Feb. 14th and Saturday, Feb. 15th. This specialty menu will be offered at $225 per guest on Friday and $205 per guest on Saturday with wine pairings selected by Sommelier and Wine Director Kevin Lewis available at an additional $125 per person. 5594 W. Keeler’s Neighborhood Steakhouse

On Friday, February 14 and throughout the Valentine’s Day weekend, Keeler’s Neighborhood Steakhouse celebrates love with specialty cocktails and a prix fixe menu for two designed to chart a course for a night of passion! Lovely libations, for $12 each. The Prix Fixe menu is $69 plus per person and includes your choice of lobster bisque or chopped salad to start. Entree options include a 10-ounce prime rib and lobster tail or 6-ounce Chilean sea bass and lobster tail. Ko’Sin

The culinary team at Ko’Sin will offer several dinner features on Friday, February 14 amidst romantic views of the Sierra Estrella Mountains. For a starter, sweethearts can enjoy burrata and heirloom tomatoes ($12) with basil pine nut cake, Queen Creek Olive Oil and cracked pepper. Specials entrees for the evening include pomegranate lacquered short rib ($28) with mascarpone polenta, grilled king trumpet mushroom and horseradish espuma; as well as roast duck breast with blood orange, beet soubise, duck fat glazed carrots and gaufrette potatoes. 5594 W. Lon’s and Lon’s Last Drop

Raise a glass to friendship or romance at LON’s Last Drop from February 13-16th, with this pretty in pink, perfectly balanced Valentini. This Galentine’s or Valentine’s Day cocktail is an intoxicating blend of Flagstaff distillery Canyon Diablo’s Sonoran Rose vodka; Licor 43, which is full of aromas of vanilla and orange; homemade local pomegranate molasses, a splash of fresh local lemon juice and topped with a Luxardo Maraschino foam ($14). Or toast to love at LON’s at The Hermosa, which was named by Food & Wine Magazine as The Most Romantic Restaurant in Arizona in 2018. Chef Jeremy Pacheco and the LON’s culinary team have created a spectacular three-course menu that pairs perfectly with one of the nearly 700 wines featured on the restaurant’s award-winning wine list. Menu highlights include Rovey Family Farms Wagyu beef duo: red wine braised short ribs & grilled striploin, Hawaiian snapper or smoked Sonoma Valley duck breast. Match Restaurant and Lounge

Friday, February 14 is the loveliest day of the year – in part because Match Restaurant and Lounge, the FOUND:RE’s signature restaurant, is celebrating love with a special three-course menu with choices for each course including entree options like bacon-wrapped filet mignon, seared Chilean sea bass and coconut curry. The Melting Pot

The Melting Pot invites dine your valentine with a romantic complimentary toast, a decadent 4-course fondue dinner with choice of entrée, followed by an unforgettable chocolate fondue finale. You’ll also receive a souvenir photo with a frame to commemorate your special night for just $89.95 per person (not including tax or gratuity.) You can also upgrade your experience to their VIP Cupid Celebration package that includes a romantic curtain table, 6 roses, rose petals showered across the table, a bottle of bubbly, 4-courses of fondue and souvenir photo with frame for $250 per couple. Mora Italian

Treat your honey to a tasting menu at Mora Italian for $125 per person, with optional add-ons and wine pairings for an additional $50. An optional amuse oysters on the half shell with caviar is available for $40. The four-course menu includes first course choice of salad or a smoked potato soup; for the second course, guests will have the choice of polenta “Boscaiola”, with maitake mushrooms, bacon and black truffle; or seared big eye tuna crudo, with blood orange, black olive, fennel and crispy shallots; the third course will have options of their famous pasta al pomodoro; rigatoni verde, with roasted pepper, sausage ragu and black pepper ricotta; or black truffle pasta (supplemental $55). For the fourth course, guests can choose between vegetable ash crusted striploin, salt baked halibut or squash “parmesan”. End the night with a sweet treat of either chocolate budino, with gianduja crumble, sea salt and whipped cream; or limoncello cheesecake soufflè, with thyme and semolina sable. Morning Squeeze

There’s nothing more romantic than breakfast in bed. But when Valentine’s Day is on a Friday, there’s probably that J-O-B kicking you out from under the sheets. But don’t worry. The groovy brunch spot Morning Squeeze has two specials on February 14 to keep the love vibes going until you get to dinner. Two holiday specials will be available: You Mocha Me Crazy ($5) – Strawberry Mocha: Before your eyes can meet across a crowded room, they have to be open. Get the day started with this special mocha that tastes deliciously like chocolate covered strawberries. Filled With Love Stuffed French Toast ($13): This brunch special layers strawberry puree between two decadent slices of Morning Squeeze’ original French Toast, then tops it chocolate brittle and pistachios. These specials are available at Morning Squeeze’s two locations in Tempe and Scottsdale on Friday, February 14 only. Multiple valley locations

Ocean Prime

For couples that love to dine, Ocean Prime offers a special menu item designed to ignite the flame of passion! Available exclusively on Valentine’s Day, couples can enjoy roasted sea bass over Alaskan king crab gnocchi with champagne cream topped with baby carrot salad in a preserved lemon pepper vinaigrette for $62. 5455 E. Ocean Trail

From 11am to 12am guests will enjoy a three-course prix fixe menu, starting with Caesar salad, followed by Maine Lobster and Spanish seafood paella with shrimp, crab meat, crawfish, clams, black mussels, andouille sausage and saffron rice. Original Breakfast House

Beginning Friday, February 14, and throughout Valentine’s Day weekend (Saturday, February 15and Sunday, February 16), Original Breakfast House is celebrating romance (and breakfast!) with two lovely specials including a filet mignon benedict ($17.50) and a crab omelet ($16.) 13623 N. 32nd St., Phoenix; 602.482.2328

The Palo Verde Restaurant

The Palo Verde Restaurant at the Boulders Resort celebrates the Valentine’s Day holiday on Friday, February 14th with a specialty five course pre-fixe menu including a bottle of sparkling house wine for two!  Menu items include an amuse bouche of corn and cactus fritter, a bytter poached lobster, chilled scallops, grilled prime beef ternderloin and a strawberry and peanut dacqoise. Phoenix City Grille

Phoenix City Grille is giving diners another reason to fall in love with this local favorite with selection of specialties available from 3pm to 10pm exclusively on Valentine’s Day. Menu specials include New England clam chowder, seared Chula Seafood scallops, filet and lobster as well as pan-seared Chula Seafood sea bass. Pomo Pizzeria

One Valentine’s Day, buy your true love a heart shaped margherita pizza at Pomo Pizzeria, made Napoletana style. The heart shaped pizza will be available at all three locations in Phoenix, Gilbert and Scottsdale. Multiple valley locations

Prado

Treat your special someone on the day of love with a Valentine’s Day dinner at Prado. Enjoy a four-course, pre-fixe dinner, which includes choices such as foie gras churros, Maine lobster and blue cheese panna cotta, and enhance the experience with expertly paired wines, including select vintage champagne. $170 per person (not including tax or gratuity.) 4949 E. Roaring Fork

Roaring Fork will be hosting a romantic evening for couples on Friday, February 14th in honor of Valentine’s Day beginning at 5pm. The talented Executive Chef, Scott Mortensen, will be offering a specialty three course “Surf and Turf” option with an 8 oz. filet and shrimp in scampi sauce served with asparagus, a choice of salad such as the Iceberg BLT, Caesar or market greens or soup including the signature tortilla soup; and dessert options such as the restaurant’s specialty pecan pie.  In addition, bone in Niman Ranch steaks will be available. Rusconi’s American Kitchen

Love is in the air at Rusconi’s in honor of Valentine’s Day. Lovebirds are invited to enjoy a special three-course menu exclusive on this Happy Hearts Day beginning at 5pm. Entree options include herbed chicken breast, cocoa rubbed maple leaf duck breast, roasted rack of lamb, Florida grouper and blue crab or a 21-day aged filet of beef tenderloin. Sardella’s Pizza and Wings

Sardella’s is offering a 16-inch pink heart-shaped pizza along with a personalized message and long-stemmed rose for $21.99. They are also offering the same deal with an added half dozen chocolate chip cookies and whipped cream for $31.99. Customers can order for pick-up, delivery or dine-in. Heart-shaped pizzas can be pre-ordered now through February 13th by calling any of their four Valley locations.  On Valentine’s Day, orders can be placed online, in person or by phone. Sauce Pizza and Wine

Love is in the air at Sauce Pizza and Wine and what better way to show your love than with a romantic 2 for $25 date night. On February 14th, guests can celebrate the season of love with a date or a friend at Sauce for just $25. This special includes one of Sauce’s many hand-tossed salads ($10 or less), a 12-inch pizza ($12 or less), and two glasses of wine ($7 or less). Not in the mood for pizza or wine? Not a problem. Guests can substitute for any entrée ($10 or less) or beverage ($7 or less). Multiple valley locations

T.Cook’s

Executive Chef Lee Hillson and the culinary team at T. Cook’s will be preparing a special romantic multi-course, prix-fixe dinner paired with a Veuve Clicquot Rosé toast priced at $135 per person excluding tax and gratuity. Guests will enjoy their choice of bisque, rabbit roulade, citrus endive salad, smoked beef tartare, caramelized onion Buffalo ricotta agnolotti, Glacier Bay bass, duck breast, roasted sweet potato wedge, chocolate hazelnut noisette, and strawberries-n-cream gâteau, among others. On Friday, February 14, otherwise known as Valentine’s Day, couples and foodies alike are invited to fall in love with Trapp Haus BBQ’s one-of-a-kind three-course dining experience featuring Trapp Haus Owner and Pitmaster Phil “The Grill” Johnson. Beginning at 7pm, diners will enjoy a personal chef experience with a three-course meal including beer and wine, featuring a peach brandy grilled porterhouse pork chop, grilled Wagyu ribeye cap and grilled bbq jerked salmon for $150 per person. 511 E. Whether celebrating Valentine’s Day with a true love or a true friend, True Food Kitchen is inviting guests to eat to their hearts content. Friday, February 14 through Sunday, February 16, True Food Kitchen will offer lovebirds a prix fixe meal that Cupid himself would enjoy. Guests will start by choosing from a selection of featured Valentine-inspired beverages.
