News | SaltRock Southwest Kitchen Names New Executive Chef

The onset of a new year is all about change and our favorite restaurants are no exception. We just found out that SaltRock Southwest Kitchen in Sedona at the Kimpton Amara Resort and Spa has a brand new executive chef. Chef Logan Stephenson joined the team in November and is fixed to lead the charge in the kitchen, taking inspiration from his upbringing to bring more local fare to the menu.

SaltRock Southwest Kitchen Names New Executive ChefChef Stephenson grew up hunting and fishing for his food in a small Louisiana town. As he began to advance in his culinary career he became more of a modern forager due to his transition to more urban areas. His career has taken him from his roots in Louisiana all the way to the San Francisco Bay area where he explored ingredient driven dining at Osteria Locanda. He later made his way to Phoenix where he helped to develop the pasta program at FiAMMA Trattoria and most recently he was the Chef de Cuisine at Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails.

Having now relocated to Sedona, Chef Stephenson is ready to come back to that slower paced of life that he hails from. He’s ready to adopt the foraging approach by collaborating with local wineries, fisheries and producers to draw in more indigenous elements to the SaltRock menu.

We can’t wait to see (and taste) what changes Chef Stephenson brings to SaltRock and anticipate that the new menu will be completely revamped by Spring, which just so happens to coincide with the ideal time to visit Sedona!
