House of Tricks has something new up their sleeve
When I first started at ASU, House of Tricks was that place that classmates went on dates or when out-of-staters parents were in town. I didn’t have occasion to visit as a student, but I clearly remember my very first date night spent there.
We sat out on the patio, under the blossoming trees adorned with fairy lights. The dim lighting and lush foliage provided the most romantic of backdrops for a quiet and intimate evening. I remember the food being some of the most beautiful I had seen to that point, and I was overwhelmed by the friendliness and impeccable service of the staff. Knowing that the restaurant is sort of modeled after owners Robert and Robin Trick’s favorite romantic restaurant in Jerome, makes the whole experience all the more special.
While I have had many great restaurant experience since that first date night at House of Tricks, the restaurant still holds a special place in my heart and remains among my top five favorites in the Valley.
Summer Specials at House of Tricks
During their summer holiday, the House of Tricks team worked tirelessly to renovate parts of the property, updating the historic bungalow as well as adding new amenities to the bar area and a few other touches. To celebrate the renovations and some new menu items, the restaurant has launched their Hours of Tranquility from 4pm until 6pm. You can also take part of their once a year season opener H.O.T. Summer Savings program. This only happens once a year and allows for guests to save 20% off of their check. With that extra discount you can try new menu items and maybe upgrade your glass of wine. All you need to do to get your discount is go to their website and grab the special coupon and then show it to your server. (Some restrictions apply, so make sure to check out all the nitty gritty details.) This special promotion runs throughout the month of August, so you have plenty of time to take advantage.
The Menu at House of Tricks
The kitchen is serving up contemporary American cuisine, inspired by the seasons. You’ll embark on a culinary adventure with each and every dish from the menu. By now, you all know how I feel about ahi tuna and the Sesame Seared Rare Ahi Tuna here is one of my absolute favorites! It comes with pineapple Togarashi rice, a sweet and sour purple cabbage with a teriyaki glaze. The rich flavor of the tuna with the sweet and sour flavors of rice and cabbage really make the dish.
Their menu is constantly evolving and full of seasonal dishes. Make sure that you check out their H.O.T. Summer Savings program to try them out if you’ve never been, or maybe to try something new if it has been awhile since your last visit.
