Famous Dave’s Hosts Back To School Supply Drive

Posted on: July 25th, 2016 by Taryn Jeffries No Comments

Today was a great day in the PhoenixBites household; it is the first day of school! The boys got up early with anticipation, excited to see friends that they haven’t seen for a few weeks and to get a feel for their new teachers and class set ups. Both were sporting new kicks and fancy hair-dos. The Mister and I were excited because this day means its going to be a lot quieter during the day. We will likely has some increased productivity but we’re mostly excited about the whole no yelling and arguing situation that has existed pretty much daily for the last 6 weeks. Don’t get me wrong, I love my little people but I can love them from 2:45 until bedtime now and that’s nice too!

Famous Dave's Hosts Back To School Supply DriveBack to school time isn’t always as easy breezy and exciting for some families. The added financial strain of all the things that are needed for a new school year can be taxing on some parents. Famous Dave’s wants to help relieve some of that stress for Valley families. They are hosting a Back to School Supply Drive from now through July 31st. The Drive will benefit Southwest Human Development.

“There are so many children throughout the Valley who won’t have the supplies they need this year to succeed in school,” said Ryan Narramore of Southwest Human Development, Arizona’s largest nonprofit dedicated to early childhood development. “With the support of the community and our partners, we hope to collect enough school supplies to provide more than 500 families with what they need for their children to enter school ready to learn.”

People can drop off NEW items at any of the four Valley Famous Dave’s locations during normal business hours. As a special incentive during this school supply drive, anyone who not only donates supplies, but also a NEW, book size backpack at one of the Valley Famous Dave’s locations, will receive a voucher for a free Georgia Chopped Pork sandwich. One per person. The list of supplies needed are below and greatly appreciated.
