Hopdoddy Burger Bar: Artistic, Approachable Burgers

Posted on: February 11th, 2016 by Taryn Jeffries 2 Comments

There are few things that we love more than a hamburger. In its simplest form, it exists as a blank canvas on which you create a masterpiece based on perfectly placed condiments and flavors. Much like with fine art, each person creating a burger has their own personal experience and definition as to what makes a masterpiece. Add to that, almost every cuisine has their version of a burger; from a hamburguesas in Mexico, a hanbaga in Japan to a shami burger in Pakistan all with unique and region specific toppings.

Hopdoddy Burger Bar's Boris Burger Special and New Location Announcement

That’s what we think makes a burger great; the endless possibilities of toppings. One spot in town that is creating some really unique burger creations is Hopdoddy Burger Bar. Not only do they have several special burgers on their menu, ranging from classic to all together inspired burgers like the Ahi Tuna Burger they also create monthly specials. An example of that creativity is exhibited in their current special (available through 2/21/16), the Boris Burger. The Boris Burger is a re-imagined Ruben sandwich and is made up of a chicken burger, topped with a mountain of sliced pastrami, beer-braised sauerkraut and Swiss cheese. All of this rich goodness is then delicately situated on a warm egg bun that gets a generous smattering of house-made Russian dressing, of course.

Along with the ongoing burger specials, they also have cocktail and milkshake (oh, yeah) specials as well. This week, to honor those adorable little girl scouts, the have a special Think Mint shake made with Thin Mint cookies (of course), a sweet mint white chocolate sauce, house-made spiced vanilla ice cream and is then topped with whipped cream and some Thin Mint cookie pieces.

Cocktail lovers will happily belly up to the bar for their Sucker Punch cocktail special. This cocktail is a combination of spiced rum, white rum, house-made punch garnished with an orange wedge on a pink sugar rimmed glass.

One, of the many, things we dig so much about Hopdoddy is that they pride themselves on using the freshest all-natural ingredients available. You don’t have to worry about growth hormones, antibiotics or gross additives here All of their meats are ground in house daily, all the fries are made from Kennebec potatoes and, you guessed it, hand cut each and every day.  Your burgers buns are also made from scratch and baking in the kitchen on the regular.

If you really want to make a trip to Hopdoddy, but have a burger-avoider with you, they also have some really hearty salads on the menu. Even cooler? They have a burger on the menu that gives $1 of each sold to Phoenix Children’s Hospital Camp Rainbow. If you want a great feeling in your belly and your heart, the Goodnight/ Good Cause burger has your name all over it! Make sure to check out their full menu for more of these inspired burger creations.

The North Scottsdale Hopdoddy location is located at 11055 N. Scottsdale Road and is open Sunday through Saturday from 11am until 10pm. Too far for all of you in Central Phoenix to drive to? Fret not, a new location will be opening up on February 22nd, so clear your calendar and be prepared for all the burgers your tastebuds and your waistband can handle!
