Who’s heating up Scottsdale this weekend?

Posted on: January 30th, 2013 by Taryn Jeffries No Comments

Despite the chill in the air lately things are about to get hot in Scottsdale this weekend…and no, I’m not talking about the Open!

On Saturday, February 2nd beginning at 6:30pm, Two Gals Events is hosting a Fiery Culinary Showdown at the Sub-Zero and Wolf Living Showroom. Not only will some of the Valley’s top chefs be dishing up their dishes, but they will be elbow-to-elbow with some local firehouse cooks.

Be prepared for a variety of sampling dishes and refreshments as well as spectacular firehouse-themed live and silent auctions. The auction items range from dinner at a local firehouse (what an experience that would be) to a hot date with one of the Valley’s most eligible firemen (just watching this will surely be worth the cost of admission!)

The event is being held to help raise funds for the 100 Club of Arizona, who work tirelessly to serve members of fire, law enforcement and public safety personnel in the times that they need it most — the times that civilians look for their help. They strive to provide financial assistance to public safety officers and firefighters and their families when they are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty, as well as to provide resources to enhance their safety and welfare. From their inception in 1968 to present, the 100 Club of Arizona has given more than $5.8 million in financial support to Arizona men and women who stand behind a badge. “Building awareness of the need, our services and our community impact, is something that this event will allow us to do in a fun, light-hearted and impactful way.”

Six Valley Firehouses will be competing in a Chili Cook-off, of which I am honored to be one of the judges. So hurry up and get this hot ticket for only $45 per person and enjoy great culinary creations, auctions for a great cause…and lets be serious, some pretty great scenery and I’m going to need someone to mop my brow!
