Taggia hosts Arizona Stronghold Wine Dinner on January 23

Posted on: January 16th, 2013 by Amy Martin No Comments

To continue their wine dinner series, Taggia at the FireSky Resort & Spa in Scottsdale has slated a special dinner with Arizona Stronghold Vineyards wines. On January 23rd, guests will enjoy four courses prepared by Taggia’s new Executive Chef Massimo De Francesca, each paired with an Arizona Stronghold wine. Notable winemaker Tim White will be on-hand to discuss the label and explain each course’s hand-picked pairings. Guests will have the opportunity to interact with Tim throughout the dinner and ask questions to learn more about winemaking and the brand. Personally, I always love dinners like this because the education and experience is really a neat take-away and gives you an ‘inside’ look into the industry. That, and it’s no secret that Arizona Stronghold wine is one of my favorite Arizona labels!

The dinner will begin at 6pm with an opening reception of hors d’oeuvres and the four-course meal will follow. Check out the menu below:

  • Scallop Carpaccio with Crispy Prosciutto | pink peppercorns and cilantro vinaigrette paired with Arizona Stronghold Dala Chardonnay 2011
  •  Lobster “Cannelloni” | with black trumpets and roasted poblano besciamella paired with Arizona Stronghold Tazi 2011
  • Braised Lamb Leg | smoked tomato ragu, sweet potato gnocchi and baby winter vegetables paired with Arizona Stronghold Magnus Sangiovese Blend vertical tasting 2008, 2009, 2010
  • Banana “Cotta” | with rum caramel, vanilla and toasted pistachio paired with Arizona Stronghold Site Archive Malvasia 2011

The Arizona Stronghold Vineyards wine dinner is priced at $85 per person, excluding tax and gratuity. Reservations can be made by calling 480-424-6095.
