Fogo de Chao down and help the kids!

Posted on: April 24th, 2012 by Taryn Jeffries No Comments

This Thursday will serve as a carnivore’s delight. April 26th, from 5:30pm-8:30pm, head out to Fogo de Chão to support Junior Achievement of Arizona.

If you have never heard of Junior Achievement of Arizona, it was founded in 1957 to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in the global economy. I remember my first interaction with them in 5th grade, but they have impacted over 72,000 students from K-12th grade. They have many age appropriate programs that help students to understand financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness.

JA Biz Town is probably one of the more recognizable programs. Within this program, 5th and 6th grade students apply for a job within Biz Town, replicating what it’s like to be an employee and how that applies to real life. After completing the 4 week classroom curriculum, the students end the experience with a 4.5 hour day at Biz Town. The students can create products or services, price them and market them for sale all the while taking on roles of CEOs, CFOs, Advertising Executives, and Sales Managers. Employees are paid twice during the day with actual payroll checks that have taxes taken out with which they open up a personal checking account – in turn, helping them learn about making choices in spending and budgeting. Each student-run business is paired with a parent or community volunteer that assists them in the entire process and brings real world experience to each business. What a wonderful way to teach children invaluable leadership, decision making, responsibility, and cooperation skills.

If you would like to help this great organization and have an incredible meal, please head out to Fogo de Chão this Thursday as all benefits from this dinner will benefit the Junior Achievement of Arizona.

For $50 per adult ($25 for children 6 to 10) you will receive:

  • Unlimited servings of 16 cuts of fire-roasted meats, including the house specialty Picanha and Filet Mignon all carved tableside by Brazilian trained Gaucho Chefs.
  • Gourmet Salad bar with more than 30 items including smoked and cured meats, imported cheeses, and vegetables.
  • One glass of wine from the award winning wine list or one cocktail.
  • Dessert.

Fogo de Chão is located at 6300 North Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale. Seating is limited so call 480-609-8866 to make reservations.
