February 2nd: Late night Roaming Pork Party at Roka Akor

Posted on: January 25th, 2012 by Amy Martin No Comments

If there’s any good reason to stay out late on a school night, it should be for pork… and lots of it. The Tender Belly Roaming Pork Party is headed to Roka Akor on February 2nd for some late night noshing as industry members and pig-lovers join for this special event.

Designed by Tender Belly founders, Erik and Shannon Duffy, the Roaming Pork Party teams up with top-notch restaurants each month to celebrate the delicious Tender Belly through chef-created menus designed specifically to showcase the product. Tender Belly strives to source from small, family owned farms and offers a variety of porky-ness from super premium bacon, 100% Berkshire cuts, sausage, and even whole hogs.

Chef Jason Alford, Roka Akor’s Executive Chef, has created a special menu to appease Tender Belly lovers and each item is priced attractively so you can sample your way through. Check out the menu:

  • “Babies in a Basket” Kumomoto Oyster, Tenderbelly Cured Pork Loin Gunkan Style | $7
  • Braised Tenderbelly Pork Belly with Housemade Kim Chi | $6
  • Tenderbelly Banh Mi | $6

To pair with the pork dishes, the following creative concoctions will be mixed specifically for the Roaming Pork Party, so drink up:

  • Breakfast Manhattan with buttered blackberry jam toast, infused with bacon (OMG yum!)
  • Blind Russian- pepper bacon rim with buttermilk donut hole skewer

The menu will only be available during Late Night at Roka Akor on Thursday, February 2nd, beginning at 8pm. Be sure to call 480-306-8800 to RSVP for the event.
