Start the year off right with the first Insider’s View Dinner at DPOV

Posted on: January 16th, 2012 by Taryn Jeffries No Comments

Different Pointe of View is well known for their excellent menu creations as well as the breathtaking views of the city. What you may not know is that they also have exquisite and exclusive Insider’s View dinners quite frequently: a unique and intimate dining experience, with limited participants, where not only do you have the opportunity to experience table-side course preparation, but an opportunity to speak with Executive Chef Anthony DeMuro, as well as an esteemed winery owner or winemaker.

The events offer the opportunity to get a history of where the wine paired with your dinner came from, as well as its roots (no pun intended.) The first Insider’s View dinner of the New Year is being held this Friday, January 20th and will feature Vinum Cellars’ owner Richard Bruno. The event will begin at 6:15pm with a cocktail hour featuring passed hors d’oeuvres in the Terrace Room. Cost per person is $99 and, in our opinion, well worth the overall experience.

Some highlights of the event’s menu will include:

  • Pan-seared Diver Scallops with sautéed smoky golden lentils, tart apple and tarragon reduction basil oil.
  • Cedar River Port-braised Short Rib with Maytag blue soft polenta, dried blueberry port wine reduction and micro arugula.
  • Applewood-smoked Venison Tenderloin with root vegetable Parmesan risotto, roasted baby beets and saba.
  • Chocolate Turtle with layered milk chocolate ganache and caramel with toasted pecans, topped with bittersweet chocolate cream and butter pecan sauce.

Reservations are required due to the limited space for the Insider’s View dinners and can be made by calling 602-866-6350.

Be sure to check out or recap of November’s Insider’s View Dinner.
