Simply Bread’s Holiday Specialties Breed New Traditions

Posted on: December 20th, 2010 by Taryn Jeffries No Comments

For many, Simply Bread’s holiday specialties have become a tradition. Lovingly created by Jeff Yankellow, named one of the country’s top 10 bakers, these and other holiday surprises are available through the end of the year at AJ’s Fine Foods throughout the Valley and Tucson, and at the Bread Bar at Simply Bread, 2117 N. 24th Street.

The Orange Anise Twist is inspired by a classic French pastry from Provence. Braided into an attractive shape and sprinkled with sugar crystals, this rich egg bread is addictive with its novel combination of orange, anise and olive oil. It can be enjoyed on its own in the morning or afternoon, or even after dinner with a glass of sweet wine.

The luscious Chocolate Baguette is made with dark European cocoa, peppered with chocolate bits and sweetened with Arizona honey. Pair it with cheese or dip it in a decadent hot chocolate fondue.

Imagine serving these on Christmas morning in their original form or by incorporating them into a French Toast.  I will have tasty dreams about the possibilities until I get my own loaves!

Holiday breads start at $3.99. For more information, visit www.simplybread.com.
