Events | Support Local Businesses During Independents Week

Posted on: July 1st, 2017 by Taryn Jeffries No Comments

July 1st marks the official start of Independents Week. The event is a weeklong celebration of local businesses that takes place from July 1st through July 9th. Not only does it highlight our exemplary local shops and eateries, it also is an occasion for consumers to save a little cash. It comes at the most opportune time, with so many stories circulating about beloved local restaurants closing.

Summertime is one of the toughest times of the year for local businesses and Independents Week is an incredible way to support these businesses, which include a wide array of industries.

Support Local Businesses During Independents WeekHow Does Independents Week Work?

All you need to do is to pick up a Golden Coupon at any Local First Arizona office, select locations around town or you can print it out at home or download one to your smartphone. Then check out the list of participating businesses to see who is accepting Golden Coupons. You’ll then be able to save 20% at any of the participating businesses.

Local First founder, Kimber Lanning stated, “Independence Day is a time for us to reflect on what makes our state and country great. Arizona’s independent business community is the backbone of our local economy and the driving force behind what makes us proud to call Arizona home. Up to four times more money stays in the local economy when consumers choose an independent business over a national chain. Independents Week is our way of drawing attention to the important role independent businesses play in our daily lives.”
