Where to Dine: 2016 New Years Eve in Scottsdale

Is there any holiday more hyped-up than New Years Eve? There is all this pressure to have an epic party or event. I have heard that what you are doing when the clock strikes midnight is indicative of how you will spend the coming year. Perhaps that is why we kiss at midnight? A sign you will be filled with love for the coming year? Since I am hoping for a year of impressive and memorable meals throughout the coming year, here is a list of all the spots that will deliver just that on New Years Eve in Scottsdale!

Special Celebration at Citizen Public House

The Basics | Ring in the new year while dining on Chef Bernie’s annual New Year’s Eve prix fixe menu. It’s a three-course meal filled with his comforting contemporary American fare like his famous Original Chopped Salad, Ling Cod with pickled papaya and bok choy, Cherry Pecan Bread Pudding and more. Pair your experience with tipples from their new cocktail menu like the Tiki-inspired “Golden Delicious” or the chocolatey “A Tip of the Cap”. For the price, their menu is your best bet for a luxe finale of 2017. Space is limited, so reservations are recommended. Five Course Dinner & Champagne Toast at Virtu Honest Craft

The Basics | Toast to the end of 2016 with a glass of bubbly when you arrive – follow it with the best meal you’ve had all year. A five-course dinner filled with Chef Gio’s award-winning handmade pastas and fresh crudos. Guests with dietary restrictions should call 480-946-3477 to inform the chef before December 26th. Reservations are required and space is limited, call 480-946-3477 to save your spot. A cancellation policy will be in effect. Dinner reservation seating times will begin at 5pm with the last seating at 9:30pm.

Kick Off New Years at EVO

The Basics | Kick-off your New Year’s Eve party plans with a traditional Italian feast at EVO in Scottsdale. Whether looking to dine with a large group of friends or for a romantic night out with the one you love, EVO’s four-course New Year’s Eve menu is perfect for everyone. The New Year’s Eve menu is complete with starters, salads, a main course and dessert. The special holiday menu will be the only menu of the evening and guests dining in the bar will have the opportunity to order à la carte from the New Year’s Eve menu.

NYE Dinner at Tavern Americana

The Basics | Enjoy a special three-course dinner at Tavern America between 5pm and 10pm. First course options are a Caesar salad or an avocado and grapefruit salad. For you entrée you can choose between an herb-crusted hanger steak or roasted half chicken. Dessert choices are a chocolate lava cake or a Grand Marnier crème brûlée. Reservations are required.

New Years Eve at Sonatas

The Basics | Guests are invited to a Las Vegas style New Year’s Eve bash complete with delicious food, showstoppers, fabulous drinks and live entertainment to keep guests dancing the night away beginning at 8:00pm. The price includes hors d’oeuvres, a seated dinner by Executive Chef, Josh Bracher; a dessert table, partial open bar featuring specialty cocktails; hosted countdown with champagne toast, and late-night snacks.

Celebrate the New Year at Sorso Wine Room 

The Basics | Sorso Wine Room invites diners to celebrate the New Year with great food, great fun and of course great wine! Sorso will offer a five-course prix fix menu designed by Chef Paige Murphy paired with selected wines by Sommelier Troy Tranzow. The menu may include the following items paired with wine: charcuterie plate, corn and shishito fritter with honey drizzle, soup taster, braised mustard greens with lentils and crostini, roasted pork with Parmesan risotto, and coffee glazed donuts with vanilla whipped cream. Plus, enjoy 1/2 off bottle specials all night long!

Toast the New Year at The Westin Kierland Resort

The Basics | Celebrate New Year’s Eve in celebrity style with The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa’s Cristal Celebration Package featuring the famous Louis Roederer Champagne of the tsars and the stars. Start the evening with either a sumptuous dinner at deseo, the Resort’s signature restaurant featuring fresh and flavorful Nuevo Latino cuisine, or Nellie Cashman’s Monday Club Café, whose locally inspired cuisine includes Arizona Prime Beef.  The four-course prix fixe menu at deseo will include a variety of delicious choices ranging from ceviches to Hudson Valley foie gras to “caviar y papa” for starters to main courses including braised wagyu beef and seared black cod to dessert choices including dulce de leche flan, arroz con leche and warm chocolate lava cake.  At Nellie Cashman’s, guests can enjoy a menu of smoked leek bisque, bourbon-infused Arizona prime beef tenderloin and jumbo gulf shrimp duet and a chocolate s’mores tart. Then, continue the celebration with New Year’s Eve festivities at Dreamweavers Canyon. Enjoy live musical entertainment all evening along with a chilled bottle of Louis Roederer Champagne Brut Cristal, which has been recognized as one of the world’s finest Champagnes since its creation for Russia’s Tsar Alexander II in 1876. The Herb Box

The Basics | Celebrate New Year’s Eve on Saturday, December 31 from 5 to p.m. with a memorable dinner at The Herb Box, inspired by James Beard Award-winning, Michelin-Starred Chef, Alex Stratta. Besides its regular dinner menu, all three Valley locations of The Herb Box will serve a special four-course prix fixe menu. The meal begins with Butternut Squash Soup with duck confit, wild mushrooms, pepitas and spiced cream, plus an Herb Grilled Shrimp and Fuji Apple Salad with arugula, radicchio and frisee, with a balsamic vinaigrette. For the main course, choose from three different dishes. A Tenderloin of Beef with Red Wine Sauce is served with horseradish potato gratin and candied shallots. Roasted Chicken is accompanied by Swiss chard and caramelized parsnips and roasted garlic and parmigiano polenta. For a seafood option, try the Pan Seared Sea Bass with orange glazed fennel, oven-dried tomatoes, clementines and basil butter sauce. Finish the meal with a Chocolate Resolution featuring dark chocolate, raspberries and cinnamon crisp.
