6th Street Market Makes Sunday About Community

Posted on: October 1st, 2016 by Taryn Jeffries No Comments

Farmer’s markets are a great place to connect with your community and its roots. It’s hard to beat the great produce and artisan products that are available. Somehow the team behind the 6th Street Market has figured out a way to make it even better.

6th Street Market Makes Sunday About Community in TempeThe 6th Street Market organizers have worked to create a true snapshot of the community and its talented residents. Every Sunday you can be wowed by more than 30 local artisans, food booths, and live music. The Market runs from 10am until 4pm at the 6th Street Park, just at the base of City Hall. This Market is going to provide an opportunity for local artists to showcase and sell their wares. You’ll find unique merchandise like jewelry, leather goods, paintings, prints, and soaps. Pretty much anything that you can think of. It’s the perfect spot to learn about local artisans as well as finding the perfect gift for yourself or your hard to shop for friends and family.

The 6th Street Market will be across the street from the Tempe Farmers Market. The location and offerings are going to create a true one-stop-shopping event. Finding a parking spot will be a breeze thanks to the free lot at the City Hall garage, just east of the Market location.

To sweeten the deal, with so many restaurants in the area serving up breakfast and brunch, there’s no better place to spend a leisurely Sunday.

“We’re keen listeners and have asked the public what they want to see and do in Downtown Tempe,” said the Downtown Tempe Authority’s Director of Messaging Miranda Edwards. “We heard loud and clear that the public wants more cultural amenities including a regular space for local creatives to sell their art and wares, and more support for the local music community. Tempe and the region are rich with creative talent and our goal is to make our downtown the go-to one-stop for free fun for all ages.”

They are always looking for new and interesting vendors to join the 6th Street Market. If you are interested in joining the Market and the great group of vendors, you can complete a new vendor application for consideration.

We hope to see you at the 6th Street Market on Sundays!
