Still searching for the perfect gift for your food-enthusiast friends? We’ve got some ideas!
Through Christmas, we’ll be sharing our favorite picks for holiday gift ideas for food-lovers, home cooks (both novice and all-star) and those who love to entertain. Check out details below for today’s holiday gift idea!

Holiday Gift Idea: Uncommon Goods Soup and Sandwich Ceramic Tray Duo

Retailing at $30.00 for two, these trays make a really unique gift for the home cook. I could get lost browsing Uncommon Goods’ selection of products for hours (really, I want one of everything!)—they have everything you would never imagine. Nearly all of their kitchen products are so ‘uncommon’ that you won’t take the chance of gifting one of their products and your recipient already owns it. Isn’t that the worst? Trying to figure out a gift for the friend who already has everything? Take a look around their website and you’ll find plenty (plenty) of gift ideas here.

I immediately wanted these Soup and Sandwich Ceramic Trays when I saw them. I love bright white dishes (they always seem to make my food look better) and these ceramic trays have that luster I was looking for. Their rounded edges give them a bit of ‘cuteness’ and they are super sturdy. Although breakable, they’re still sturdy enough to handle the dishwasher. The soup bowl fits snuggly in the tray so you won’t have to worry about your hot bowl of soup sliding around on the plate. Kind of genius, right?

As soon as I received mine, I thought of a ton of different ways I can use them… for many more purposes than just soup and a sandwich. Try them at breakfast with a bowl of Greek yogurt and fresh cut berries alongside your morning bagel or bacon and eggs. Or at lunch, maybe a salad and quiche? You can even pop these in the microwave or oven making them super convenient for last minute touches like melting a French bread crouton and cheese on top of your French onion soup or quickly re-warming your dish if you prep your lunches in the A.M.

My personal favorite use for these trays (especially for the holidays) was for pie and ice cream. I love the combo of a slice of piping hot pie with super cold ice cream, but I never put the two in the same bowl because of the puddle of melted ice cream that collects at the bottom. And with these trays, I didn’t have to hold on to two dishes while I sneaked a piece of pie on the couch after my toddler goes to bed at night!

My only complaint? These trays make me want to eat more pie. ;)
