Win it: Bialetti Pasta Pot
You may have seen their products on the shelves of your local Bed, Bath & Beyond or coffee-making products at Crate & Barrel, but if you’ve yet to wonder long enough to add a Bialetti product to your kitchen, you might be surprised at what you’re missing out. The line is known for its Italian inspiration and the brand even claims that, in Italy, you’ll find Bialetti products in nine out of ten households. We’re very excited to announce a giveaway with Bialetti–one of our readers will win one of their “Original” Pasta Pots!
If you’re still a novice in the kitchen, Italian cooking can be somewhat intimidating only because every Italian family claims that no one cooks better than grandma. Bialetti products make true Italian cooking a bit easier. The line is known for their classic Moka Express, a stovetop espresso maker. But since its creation, they’ve come a long way. Their products are simple and easy to use, while their look is anything but. The brightly colored design of many of their items bring some livelihood into the kitchen and, if you’re anything like me, cooking is always more fun with color!
I tested a few products to familiarize myself with the brand. Among those was the iconic Moka Express that has been a household staple for 75 years. True Italians know their espresso and many claim you don’t need those high-dollar, fancy machines to create the perfect demitasse of rich, authentic Italian coffee. Its pot is made of aluminum and is 8-sided to allow for perfect heat diffusion and it will last you for years and years to come. The design has held true to its roots has hardly changed since the original (as you can see here).
The Moka Express is available in 1 cup, 3 cup, 6 cup, 9 cup and 12 cup sizes so no matter if your brewing just for one or for a large gathering, the wait time will be even for all, unlike waiting on espresso machines to pump out one or two shots at a time.
I also tested out one of their Aeternum Ceramic Nonstick Saute Pans.
When I’m in the need of nonstick, I’m a big fan of ceramic. They aren’t riddled with nearly as many chemicals (in fact, these pans are eco-friendly and PFOA free, PTFE free and Cadmium free) and I think they do a much better job than traditional nonstick pans. These bright white ceramic sauté pans are beautiful; I loved seeing the contract of the colors of my food against the pristine, white pan. Not to mention they are incredibly easy to clean and hold up against stains very well. This pan was very solid with its aluminum construction to aid in optimum heating and helps use less energy as you’ll be able to cook most high-temp foods (and reach a sear) on medium to medium high heat. Its stainless steel handle keeps cool while you’re cooking and the pan is oven-safe up to 400F.
One of the most fun products I tried was the “Original” Pasta Pot. This 5-quart pot works as a 2 in 1 that allows you to cook any shaped pasta (even spaghetti) and strain it right from the pot with its locking lid.
You’ll notice that the pan is oval shaped which helps in cooking longer pasta like spaghetti, angel hair and lasagna without risk for breakage. The interior is nonstick, making clean-up a breeze. I love the vibrant colors they come in—purple, turquoise, orange, blue and red. Such a fun way to add some color in my kitchen! You’ll find these at Bed, Bath & Beyond priced at $29.99 each.
