Trader Joe’s Premium Silver Tequila

If you’ve moseyed Trader Joe’s liquor aisle yet, you might have discovered the new(ish) addition: Trader Jose’s Premium Silver Tequila. This 100% Agave, 80 proof (40% alcohol by volume) silver tequila runs attractively at just under $17 for a 750ml bottle.

Trader Jose’s Tequila is produced at the same distillery as other high-quality tequilas, Premium de Jalisco, but cost only a fraction of the price (easier on the wallet than, say, Chamucos). Premium de Jalisco was founded in 2000, and located 16,000ft above sea level in the high mountains of Jalisco. Their location complements their tequilas made of 100% blue agave plant, with its ideal weather conditions for aging tequilas.

The tequila seems ideal for everyday use… margarita anyone? We especially loved it in our Paloma with its surprising sweetness and vanilla marshmallow-y notes. We picked up on a bit of green grass and lemongrass too, both refreshing accessories. Considering its pricetag, it’s a quite lovely silver!
