Mamma Chia Vitality Beverages
THIS GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED. Congrats to George C, Brian R, Steven E, Angie D and Janel M, our winners!
We are very excited to announce a giveaway with Mamma Chia, makers of a chia seed vitality beverage with an impressive nutritional value. Five of our readers will win 4 VIP Free Product Coupons and 4 $1 Off Coupons each for the beverage.
Chia seed, an ancient grain revered by the Mayans and Aztecs for its powerful energy and natural healing powers, offers a complete nutritional profile of omega-3, balanced dietary fiber, complete protein, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. A New York Times bestselling book, Born to Run by Christopher McDougall, digs deeper into the nutritional benefits of chia seed, “In terms of nutritional content, a tablespoon of chia is like a smoothie made from salmon, spinach, and human growth hormone. As tiny as those seeds are, they’re superpacked with Omega-3s, protein, calcium, iron, zinc, fiber and antioxidants. If you had to pick just one desert-island food, you couldn’t do much better than chia, at least if you were interested in building muscle, lowering cholesterol, and reducing your risk of heart disease; after a few months on the chia diet, you could probably swim home.”
Mamma Chia is available in four flavors, Blackberry-Hibiscus, Raspberry-Passion, Cherry-Lime, and Cranberry-Lemonade.
We recently had the opportunity to try a few ourselves:
The Blackberry-Hibiscus was the first flavor to catch our eye (perhaps it was its gorgeous, deep purple color in the see-through glass bottle). Immediately after opening the bottle, the fragrant burst of ripe blackberries and hibiscus made us wish this was available in a wearable perfume! Sipping it, we were delighted its sweet and slightly floral taste… really quite lovely. Our absolute favorite of the three we tried.
Cherry-Lime is deep reddish in color and slightly less sweet than the Blackberry-Hibiscus, offering a bright combination of tart cherries with a twinge of lime.
Cranberry-Lemonade is a nice substitute for pink lemonade-drinkers. We found it to be the least sweet of the bunch, but not at all sour… it’s really a refreshing treat when you need a pick-me-up!
Unlike flaxseed, Chia seeds do not need to be ground in order to absorb the nutritional benefits. So, you’ll find that the beverage is full of these tiny soft “magical” seeds. We actually appreciated its texture!
You can find their products here locally in Sprouts and Whole Foods locations. Visit their website to find a store near you: mammachia.com/find-us.
