Amazon Restaurants Looking to Compete with UberEats

Posted on: December 15th, 2016 by Taryn Jeffries No Comments

I woke up to some potentially delicious news from Amazon Restaurants. Starting today, Amazon Prime members in Phoenix can now enjoy free one-hour delivery from popular restaurants, including O.H.S.O. Eatery, Thai Basil, Spinato’s Pizzeria, Hummus Xpress, Buca Di Beppo, and many more just in time for the holidays.
Amazon Restaurants Looking to Compete with UberEatsUsing the Amazon or Prime Now mobile app or by visiting www.amazon.com/restaurants, Prime members in Phoenix can order from participating restaurants, browse menus, and watch as their delivery travels from the restaurant to the delivery address in real time.

Once an order is placed, Amazon delivery partners deliver the food in one hour or less. Amazon Restaurants offers customers transparent pricing—there are no menu markups or hidden service fees—and delivery on all orders is free for Prime members. Just how does that work? If a customer finds a restaurant item that is priced higher than the regularly priced item on the restaurant’s current online menu within 24 hours of placing the order, Amazon will refund that customer the price of the item.

“We are very excited to partner with a brand that is synonymous with quality,” said Mike Garnel, general manager of O.H.S.O. Brewery + Distillery. “We trust that Amazon Restaurants will deliver their exemplary service and give our customers a brand new way to experience O.H.S.O.”
