Zach Garcia’s Ego Project: Zappone Takeover

Posted on: July 28th, 2015 by Taryn Jeffries 2 Comments

It’s a very special thing when one can take a passion and turn it into a career, if even for one night. At 6pm on August 30th, Zach Garcia will do just that with what he is calling his Ego Dinner.Zach Garcias Ego Dinner

Zach Garcia is a self-described avid eater, home cook, diner-outer and food nerd and I can attest that he appears to know his way around the kitchen; I have seen his Instagram pics!

For one night he will prepare some of his favorite dishes, six of them to be exact, at one of his family’s favorite dining spots, Zappone’s Italian Bistro in Gilbert. Zach easily got the owners on board and has recently acquired 64 pounds of Tender Belly Berkshire belly that is bound to be transformed into an astonishing dish.

What can you expect? We have a sneak peek at the menu right here.

Zach Garcia’s Ego Dinner Menu

First| Bourbon bacon rillettes with Zappone’s Housemde bread and pickled grapes

Second| Mixed greens with salami, sundried tomatoes, cotija, tomatoes, roasted pistachio with lemon and white wine vinaigrette

Third| Cauliflower soup with breadcrumb gratin and lemon olive oil

Fourth| Corn ravioli with basil and ricotta over parmesan cream sauce

Fifth| Mangalitsa Pork entree TBD.

Sixth| #AlwaysOrderDessert: Peach Shortcake with housemade whipped cream

The noted menu is subject to change and they are able to accommodate dietary restrictions with at least a 7 day notice.

You can purchase tickets to this exclusive dinner on EventBrite and they only cost $53.74. With the dinner being an exclusive one-night-only event seating will be limited and at last check there were only 17 spots left, so hurry up and get yours while you still have a chance. Did I mention that all the proceeds from the night’s dinner will be donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley?

Head over a support a passion project for a talented local. See you there!
