A peek at Devoured 2012

Posted on: February 29th, 2012 by Amy Martin No Comments

Of all the great food festivals held in the Valley each year, Devoured is among the top of my list of favorites. Maybe it’s the artfully gorgeous setting as it’s held in the alluring Dorrance Sculpture Garden at Phoenix Art Museum, the impressive (and extensive) list of participating restaurants, chefs and wineries, or the early afternoon sun just before spring officially reveals itself to the Valley. Either way, it’s one I’ve come to really look forward to.

Those being said, prepare to be wined and dined at the 2012 Devoured Culinary Classic on Saturday, March 10 and Sunday, March 11 at the Phoenix Art Museum. The event is held from 11am-3pm both days and benefits Local First Arizona. Promising to spotlight the Valley’s best culinary creations, the event also showcases 30 global wineries, 10 of them being Arizona vintners. Participating AZ wineries include Arizona Stronghold Vineyards, Page Spring Cellars, Sand Reckoner Vineyard, and Dos Cabezas Wineworks.

The roster of participating restaurants include District American Kitchen and Wine Bar, Gallo Blanco Café, LON’s at the Hermosa, NoRTH, Roka Akor, St. Francis, and Talavera for Saturday and Beckett’s Table, Citizen Public House, Different Pointe of View, Petite Maison, and Sushi Roku for Sunday. The full roster is available at devouredphoenix.com.

You’ll have the opportunity to meet chefs and winemakers while sampling their best creations. The event will also feature a SubZero-Wolf Chefs Demonstration Stage for entertainment between bites and sips (the lineup will be announced soon).

As if the food and wine aren’t enough, Devoured attendees will also enjoy free admission to the Phoenix Art Museum day-of.

Tickets are $69 through March 9 at devouredphoenix.com and $79 at the door. Two-day tickets are $130 through March 9 and $180 at the door.  Museum members receive special pricing. Call 602-257-2124 for details. Tickets are also available at protixonline.com, by phone at 1-866-977-6849, or in person at Phoenix Art Museum.
