Planning ahead for your weekend out? We’ve highlighted some of our favorite weekend events to make it a little easier (and tastier!).

Friday, June 3rd

• $11 Summer Menu at Eddie’s House – $11

From Memorial Day, May 31st to Labor Day, September 5th, Chef Eddie Matney is thanking valley residents for a great year by inviting you to his House for a place to cool off with a cool $11 Summer menu. Highlights on the special menu include the following: Grilled “New York” Pork Loin (glazed with an apricot voodoo sauce and served with a grilled sweet potato and brussel sprout salad), Grilled Chuck Eye Filet (on a bed of local field greens, grape tomatoes, Stagg blue cheese, onion frizzles and a white balsamic vinaigrette), Grilled Natural Chicken Breast (Served with a toasted bacon potato salad and yellow green beans), and Pan Seared New England Cod (Atop a panzanella salad with a tomato shrimp herb essence). • 6:30-9:30pm – Elvis Before Noon at the Montelucia Resort Summer Concert Series – FREE

Get ready to dance to your favorite songs when the Valley’s most popular cover bands take the stage and perform live in Cortijo Plaza at the Montelucia Resort. The concert series will occur every Friday night from May 20th to July 8th in Cortijo Plaza at 6:30pm. This Friday, Elvis Before Noon will perform. This event is complimentary.

• All Day – 7th Annual Nicky’s Week Fundraiser at RA Sushi

RA Sushi will host its seventh annual “Nicky’s Week” fundraiser Sunday, May 29 through Saturday, June 4 to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital^®, the nation’s top children’s cancer research center. The Scottsdale-based restaurant and bar will donate 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of a variety of menu items and beverages to St. Jude to help support the hospital’s lifesaving mission. The special Nicky’s Week menu includes: Edamame, Tootsy Maki, Shrimp Nigiri, Pork Gyoza, Tuna Tataki, Chicken Yakitori and select beverages. All 25 RA Sushi locations in Arizona will participate in the fundraiser.

Saturday, June 4th

• 5:30-7:30pm – Cooking Class at Luci’s Healthy Marketplace – $49

This Sunday, head to the Classic Neapolitan Pizza Cooking Class at Luci’s Healthy Marketplace. Learn to make authentic, delicious Neapolitan style pizza with rustic flavors and old-world tradition with Chef James Monaci.  Discover how to make dough and sauce from scratch, proper baking methods and techniques to make the perfect pizza every time!  Additionally, the class will include how to create a delicious gluten-free pizza.  As the perfect complement to a delicious authentic Italian meal, a stunning confection of mascarpone, sweet ricotta, fresh berries and a port reduction will complete the menu.
