Luci’s Adults Only Root Beer Float (& Recipe)

I spent the majority of my childhood in a small town. When I say small, I mean seriously small. Like population 1500 small. This little farming town had a town center and one restaurant (there are 4 now) that I can distinctly remember. There wasn’t a lot going on in town, but this restaurant was where everyone went to catch up with one another. As a little kid, it was a big deal to go to town and those trips hold a lot of fun memories. One of which would be hopping up on the stool at the counter of the restaurant and getting my very own root beer float. Summers in the MidWest are brutal and a refreshing float always hit the float.
Not Your Father's Root Beer Float RecipeThe summers here in Arizona are a very different kind of brutal. My goal these days is to hide in my house until about October. With little people of my own, I try to give them the same sort of memories and make them frozen treats as often as I can. All while trying to avoid a trip to “town”.

Our friends at Luci’s at The Orchard have a grown up version of the Root Beer Float that they have shared with us. I cannot be more excited to try this one out! Next time I whip up a float for my boys, I will definitely be making myself one of these. The only catch – making sure they don’t get mixed up!

If you’re in the Arcadia/ Uptown area, make sure to check them out and try their float. It will run you $10 and is obviously only for the 21 and over crowd. Belly up to their full-service bar indoors and relive a little piece of your childhood.

Every weekend features happy hour pricing at Luci’s. You’ll get $1 off all beers along with $5 select wines and cocktails. You can also enjoy $5 Brewmosas and Blood Marys. All these specials are available from open to close on both Saturday and Sunday.

Can’t make the trip to town? Enjoy the Not Your Father’s Root Beer in the comfort of your air conditioning at home.
