If you have been out and about lately, you’ve probably noticed that restaurants have really been elevating their cocktail offerings. Diners are becoming more and more interested in the story and creativity of their menu options; a gin and tonic is just not cutting it anymore.
Our local mixologists are some of the best in the country and they are ready to battle it out at Jade Bar at Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain in their new Bar Brawl series. The series will begin on July 19th and will feature match-ups every Sunday through August 16th. The weekly winners will advance to the semi-finals that will be held on August 23rd and August 30th with the championship being held on September 13th. In addition to the showmanship of the mixologists you’ll be entertained by a DJ while you dine on a new menu of Bar Brawl Bites at happy hour prices in their Jade Bar.
The competitions will begin on Sundays at 8pm and will consist of three rounds focused on a specific spirit and the events will be emceed by Executive Chef Beau MacMillan and refereed by Sanctuary’s lead mixologist, Eddie Aces. The resulting cocktails will then be judged by a panel of local celebrities (tough job!) and the winner of two rounds on any given night will move on to the semi-finals. - July 19th| Vodka: Keifer Gilbert of Counter Intuitive and Andrew Calisterio from Crudo will be going head to head
- July 26th| Gin: Stephanie Teslar of Blue Hound Kitchen and Michael Liberatore of Citizen Public House will have an epic battle of the sexes
- August 9th| Bourbon: Clint Spotleson of Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel and Tony Pharias of Tarbell’s will compete in a special Bourbon battle
- August 16th| Rum: Kyle Mason of Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa will go up against Alexa Bowler from Olive & Ivy
