Bad Water Brewing Opens Tap Room in Scottsdale

Old Town Scottsdale has a new tap room in town! Bad Water Brewing Tap Room opened on September 24th in a small, but very intimate, space. The earthy colors tones and minimalistic décor make you feel right at home when you walk in the door. Friendly and welcoming knowledgeable staff, the craft beers and food boards will make this one of your favorite stops when in Scottsdale. Lewis Kubitz, founder of Bad Water Brewing, imagined having a distinct location to showcase their brand, and it took a year to locate the perfect spot. We’re glad he chose Old Town Scottsdale.

The Bites

Six different “boards” are offered, and each one is totally unique. The blending of meats, cheeses, peppers, figs, artichokes, berries, grissini, lavosh, etc. on each board is exquisite. From peppery Calabrese Sopersatta side by side with mellow blueberry goat cheese,  the crunch of golden and red Pappadew peppers with velvety boschetto di Tartufo, all while sipping Bad Water’s newest Western Lager is sure to please. The name of the individual boards itself prepares you for remarkable flavors: Brewers Reserve, Salud, Noble Stave, Prohibition Stockpile, Desert Kettle or Original Gravity. Good luck choosing just one!

The Booze

Their three craft beers; the Saison, the IPA and the Western Lager are available along with 6 others on draft and 10 other bottled beers. I would be the first to admit I am a total novice when it comes to beer, and I was pleasantly surprised on how much I enjoyed them. From the carbonation of the Saison with it’s citrusy ending to the malty sweetness of the Lager to finally the lightness of the IPA (I tasted citrus in this as well) they made me think twice about beer. As a personal thing, I’ve always shied away from IPA but as our server told us “this is the IPA for the person who does not like IPA”. They definitely hit their mark with this one.

The Bucks

The charcuterie boards range from $11.00 to $16.00 while the draft beers are all under $10.00. Most of the bottled beers are under $10.00 with only 3 above $10.00.

Their hours are Tuesday through Saturday beginning at 4 p.m. and they are located at 4216 N. Brown Ave., Scottsdale, AZ 85251. Phone: 480.748.4460 or visit their website. The signage for the taproom is a bit hard to see from the street at first so drive slowly.
