Recap: 2010 Phoenix Cooks! Food Festival

Sandwiches, pasta, wine, dessert, wine, chocolates, salads, wine, pastries… did we mention wine? The 2010 Phoenix Cooks event, held on Saturday, September 4th 2010, was spectacular and worth every penny of the ticket price! So many fantastic chefs and restaurants exhibited and showcased their best offerings.

Our “Top 5” most delicious samples at Phoenix Cooks:

1. Braised Duck RavioliDifferent Pointe of View (This was out-of-this-world-good! Braised duck ravioli with apricot sherry reduction, sauteed arugula, shaved truffle and parmesan.)

2. Red Velvet Whoopie PiesDistrict Kitchen (Holy Moly! We could eat twenty of these in a row!)

3. Lump Crab Cake with Roasted Poblano Chili SalsaHyatt Gainey Resort (Best crab cake of the day, hands down!)

4. Pulled Beef Shoulder “Tacos”Royal Palms Resort & Spa (These were so popular, they had a line… a long line.)

5. Grapefruit Basil Martini – Jade Bar at Sanctuary (This martini may just be Jade Bar’s biggest hit (at least, we think so!) and we were so excited to see these being handed out at Jade Bar’s booth. Absolut citron, basil & grapefruit. Even if you’re not a fan of grapefruit, give this a try, it might surprise you.)
