Leading the charge at Parma is Executive Chef Chris Gentile, a Southern California culinary phenom who caught the eye of restaurateurs who are rolling out concepts across the nation. Known to place a heavy emphasis on high-quality seafood, flavorful herbs and fresh vegetables, he’s injecting his signature, Coastal California style into another of his passions, fine Italian cuisine, and the results are elegant, inventive and, at times, downright indulgent.

“I can’t wait to call Scottsdale home,” Gentile says. “The city has already been amazingly welcoming, and I’ve loved getting to know the local food and beverage scene and everyone who makes it so special.”

Parma’s menu packs undeniable appeal for those looking for classic Italian standbys as well as those seeking something new. Snack and starter options range from Arancini made with Caciocavallo, peas, pancetta and arrabbiata to Grilled Spanish Octopus, Charcuterie, or Mussels & Clams, among multiple others.

Main-course offerings include pasta dishes, among them Pappardelle Bolognese and Butternut Squash-Filled Agnolotti, protein-focused entrees, such as Slow-Cooked Scottsdale Beef Short Rib, New York Strip Steak and Seared Ora King Salmon, and an assortment of wood-fired pizzas. In addition to its own take on the Margherita, Parma’s pie selection includes the Diavola, made with organic California tomato, provolone, mozzarella, spicy sopressata and hot honey, and the Dal Giordino, packed with garlic, zucchini, roasted mushrooms, potatoes and baby heirloom tomatoes.

And because no respectable Italian restaurant slacks in the wine department, Parma guests can also anticipate an impressive, varied wine list and an equally noteworthy beer and craft cocktail lineup.
