News | Posh Restaurant to Evolve into Chef’s Lounge

Chef Joshua Hebert 2013

For the last 7 years, whenever anyone asked me where my favorite local restaurant was, I have given the same answer. Through all of the openings and closings that I have been around for, I’ve never waivered. This makes the following news all the more exciting, and a touch sad. Today, Posh’s Chef Joshua Hebert announced that his restaurant will will evolve into its next iteration of culinary adventure: Chef’s Lounge. Posh officially closed on June third and will reopen as Chef’s Lounge later this summer.

Chef’s Lounge will serve as a commissary space for chefs and artisan food makers. It will be available for pop-up dinners, as well as culinary, cocktail and wine classes. The current trend of chef’s creating a new and different following through pop-up dinners, the freedom to create new and interesting menus that don’t always fall in line with their restaurant concepts, the rise of social-dining apps enabling professional chefs to host dinners, and the increase in local artisan food producers, there is a significant need for a dedicated space to accommodate them. Chef Hebert saw an opportunity to fill that need with the current Posh space.

“Posh had an amazing eight-year run, but I’m looking forward to this next phase of what it will become,” said chef and owner Joshua Hebert. “In the past, we opened Posh to other chefs to host dinners, and much of what we did on a nightly basis was provide culinary and wine education to our customers. In essence, we’ll be doing much of the same, but in a slightly different capacity and we’ll be able to fulfill a growing need here in the Valley.”

Posh Restaurant opened in the heart of Scottsdale in 2009 as the first and only “improvisational cuisine” concept in the Valley. Led by chef Hebert, Posh, and the innovative culinary team behind it, became nationally known for its “choose-your-own-adventure” style of dining and thoughtfully composed modern, multi-course menu. This style of dining created a new and exciting experience with every visit.

“I’m grateful to the loyal customers and dedicated team who took a chance on improvisational cuisine over the years,” Hebert said. “I’ve had the great fortune of working with some of the Valley’s most talented up-and-coming chefs and serving an adventurous clientele.”

The majority of the staff at Posh will be placed at other Valley restaurants based on their personal and professional goals, and select others will transition into new roles at the Chef’s Lounge. For more information, visit www.PoshScottsdale.com.
