Upgrade Your Easter Basket!

With Easter just over a week away, many of us are scrambling to plan our Easter festivities and, if you have a kid, then next Sunday will likely be filled with Easter egg dying and hunting activities, plenty of candy, and perhaps a visit to see the Easter Bunny all dressed in your Sunday best.

Whether or not you have elaborate plans to celebrate, you can’t forget the Easter basket! If you’re not feeling particiularly crafty this year or maybe you want to upgrade the classic ‘pastel-colored plastic basket filled with fake grass and plastic eggs stuffed with jelly beans,’ GourmetGiftBaskets.com has plenty of options your kids will drool over.

In such a fast-paced “there’s never enough hours in a day” world, I’ve learned the hard way that, while I try to put on my SuperMom costume every morning, I just can’t do it all. Holidays are important to me and my family usually goes all out on the decorations and celebrations, but this year we just have to opt for convenience.

Double Bunny Easter Basket

GourmetGiftBaskets.com offers that convenience and their gift baskets definitely don’t disapoint. They are especially convenient for grandparents who live far away from grandchildren and want to send them something to light up their holiday; with their selection of various gift baskets and edible Easter treats, there’s plenty that your favorite kiddos will love.

I had the opportunity to check out the Double Bunny Easter Basket myself as well as one of the edible treats. The Double Bunny Easter basket is perfect for two children to share (or just for a little person who needs a little extra spoiling!) as it includes double the treats and plenty of shareable things.

It’s packaged up in a large, sturdy wicker basket and filled to the brim with classic Easter sweets as well as a couple specialty goodies. Your kiddos might instantly reach for the two Harry Hare Rabbits that are perched on top of all of the ‘sugar’–both bunnies are incredibly soft and snuggle-worthy. They’ll also find a glow-in-the-dark frisbee to share, a Scratch-a-Sketch game that comes with three sheets, and a Fuzzy Face Pocket Travel Game where your littles can create silly faces, mustaches and beards.

There are plenty of edible surprises too; you’ll get two packages of Peeps (because, really, you can’t have an Easter basket without Peeps!), gourmet Jelly Beans, Peanut M&Ms, Twizzlers, Laffy Taffy, Smarties, Jawbreakers, and two large solid milk chocolate Easter Bunnies that should last a good length of time. You’ll also get a bag of Yogurt-Covered Mini Pretzels (yum!) and a bag of Candy-Covered Confetti Popcorn that is super addictive.

I also had the opportunity to try out their Easter Egg Speciality 6″ Cake. This cake was so festive and very pretty to display–it would make a great addition to any Easter table. It’s immediately a hit with kids because of the fun sprinkles adorning the sides, but the grown ups loved it too.

The sweet vanilla cake layered with vanilla frosting was very moist and quite surprisingly, very good. I don’t typically love pre-made desserts, cakes or cookies because they tend to be overly sweet or dry, but everyone who tasted this cake really enjoyed every last bite.

Easter baskets aren’t just for kids anymore–grownups can get in on the fun too! There are plenty of treats here that adults will love like the Red Wine & Dark Chocolate Easter Gift Basket, the Easter Basket for Men that is chockfull of ‘guy stuff,’ and the Easter Morning Breakfast Gift Basket (I know I would be thrilled to receive this one!) where you’ll get Cheddar Herb Biscuit Mix, Pancake and Waffle Mix, Jam, Maple Syrup and more.

There are plenty of other non-basket treats too like the Easter Celebration Berries and the Springtime Petite Fours.
