Weekend Guide December 17th-19th

Planning ahead for your weekend out? We’ve highlighted some of our favorite weekend events to make it a little easier (and tastier!).

Friday, December 17th

Trader Vic’s at Hotel Valley Ho has simplified happy hour, with one food menu and one drink menu available every day. The new happy hour tidbits menu features a variety of $5 items – a Mezze Plate, Crispy Calamari, Char Siu Bao, Chinese Oven-Roasted Maui Burger w/ Sweet Potato Fries, Spicy Calcutta Curry Wings, and Island Seafood Fritters. The new happy hour drink menu includes beer for $3 (Kilt Lifter & Stella Artois), wines by the glass for $6, cocktails for $5-$7 (Cherry Bomb, Spiced Mango Cocktail, and Svedka Vodka and select Cruzan Rum you-call-its), and classic Vic’s drinks for $6 (Original Mai Tai, Suffering Bastard, Bahia, Zombie, Vodka Mai Tai, and Gun Club Punch). Reverse happy hour begins at 9pm on Fridays and lasts till 11pm. Live music can be heard from 8pm-11pm as well. Happy hour specials can also be enjoyed from 4pm-6pm on Fridays. The party is for all naughty and nice locals who need a place to wear their most heinous holiday sweater.  You know, the one Aunt Mimi painstakingly sewed and bedazzled by hand until her tiny fingers cramped up! Cuddle up with Bad Santa and his Naughty Elves on Friday from 10pm until 2am.  Be prepared for an nontraditional Christmas photo that you will want so send out to all your friends!  You can also take part in various food and drink specials all night including $3 Xmas Brews, $4 Reindeer Piss and $5 Smirnoff Red Bulls from 10 p.m. – midnight. Saturday, December 18th

Santa is in town and he brought his appetite! Rico’s American Grill at Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort is hosting Breakfast with Santa. Enjoy a full breakfast buffet, cookie decorating, holiday music, pictures with Santa and a special reading of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas with Mrs. Claus. The buffet will feature a chef-attended omelet station, imported and domestic cheeses, roasted bell pepper-cilantro bisque, carving stations and more. This Saturday, local residents will be treated to free holiday festivities at the Arizona Grand Resort including cookie decorating, cider and hot chocolate, Holiday Dessert samplings from Arizona Grand Resort’s Marketplace Café, a free family photo and story time with Santa, holiday tree display, as well as Nutcracker dance performances by the Arizona Grand Jam Dancers and Dance Studio 111 ballet dancers.  They will also have a snow bubble machine (how fun is that?!). Sunday, December 19th
