Part-ambitious architectural undertaking and part-community gathering place, The Churchill is set to transform Downtown Phoenix when it opens later this summer, and the team behind the innovative, shipping-container dining and shopping destination is pleased to announce that the property is fully leased.

The 14,000 square-foot space, which offers considerable curb appeal along the northeast corner of First and Garfield streets, comes compliments of Co-Founders Kell Duncan and Hartley Rodie, with design-build by Local Studio, and will feature a broad mix of eateries, bars and retailers. Confirmed tenants include Provecho, a food concept that offers bold flavors from Central Mexico, a health-conscious spot serving smoothies and acai bowls called Foxy Fruit, a brand-new restaurant concept called Breadwinner by Culinary Mafia Group, the talented team behind Scottsdale’s EVO, and the first brick-and-mortar location of the Freak Brothers Pizza food truck, which cooks up Neapolitan-style pizzas in 90 seconds using a 1,000-degree oven.

Also setting up shop at The Churchill are State Forty Eight, a homegrown lifestyle brand that caters to sports fans, outdoor enthusiasts and the fashion-forward, Cosas, a container boutique that will feature the work of local artisans from various regions of Mexico, Sauvage, a bottle shop offering honest wines at an approachable price, and Gather, a mindful retail spot offering home and lifestyle goods.
While The Churchill provides plenty of opportunity for dining and browsing local goods, it also delivers in the happy hour department, thanks to the inclusion of the second installment of Pedal Haus Brewery, a world-class Tempe-based brewpub, and Pobrecito, a new cocktail concept from the innovative team behind Counter Intuitive and Undertow.
“It’s an eclectic, impressive tenant mix, and as we intended when creating the space, everyone brings something very different to the table,” said Kell Duncan, who co-founded The Churchill alongside Hartley Rodie.
The first Churchill tenants expect to open their doors this summer. For more about the project, visit TheChurchillPHX.com.
