Local Bars Unite to Support Central Arizona Shelter Services

The Vig, The Little Woody and Linger Longer Lounge have partnered with Breckenridge Brewery’s Christmas Ale to help raise funds for Central Arizona Shelter Services (CASS) for the December edition of their Community Handle program.

Each month, Genuine Concepts presents its Community Handle project at all of The Vig locales throughout the Valley including Arcadia, Fillmore, Uptown and McCormick Ranch. Starting in November, the group decided to include two more concepts to the mix of supporters with The Little Woody and Linger Longer Lounge. The Community Handle is a altruistic program which features a engaged brewery to sponsor chosen institutions within the greater Phoenix area. The Vig, The Little Woody and Linger Longer Lounge have partnered with Colorado based Breckenridge Brewery to help aid Central Arizona Shelter Services for the month of December. With each pint of Breckenridge’s Christmas Ale sold, each concept and Breckenridge will each donate $1 to Central Arizona Shelter Services.

For the last 32 years, Central Arizona Shelter Services’ (CASS) goal has been to, “empower men, women and children with diverse needs to end their homelessness by providing shelter and supportive services.” CASS is the largest emergency asylum provider in Arizona and operates two locations, one being a family shelter for up to 36 families with children and the other, a single adult location with 470 beds for men and women. Today, CASS serves over 5,500 individuals and provides more than 170,000 nights of shelter each year. In addition to shelter, CASS provides case management, job services and family services to the most vulnerable citizens of the Phoenix community.

The Vig, The Little Woody and Linger Longer Lounge have partnered up with Colorado’s Breckenridge Brewery to offer Christmas Ale as the beer of month in order to support CASS for December. With the spirit of the holidays in the air, this brew seems, not only appropriate but will catch the taste buds of fes- tive beer connoisseurs around the Valley. Christmas Ale is a brew which exceeds extra flavor and strength with a sturdy texture and rich flavors of caramel and chocolate. This seasonal beer is known as “the fermented equivalent of a good winter fire.”

Breckenridge Brewery first opened its doors in 1990 in the Colorado Mountains and was the third oldest craft brewery in the state at the time. Located below the slopes on Main Street of Breckenridge, the brewpub lit up the town with a lively atmosphere, delicious pub food and an excellent selection of beer.

Breckenridge Brewery was such a success over the years, president Todd Usry moved the brewhouse’s location to three towns before settling in Littleton. For the last 26 years, the focus of the brewery still rests on creating well-balanced, approachable, and interesting beers while also creating memorable visitor experiences. Breckenridge’s farmhouse-inspired brewery is so much more than a tasting room, also offering a wraparound porch, a spacious beer garden and epic views of the majestic Rocky Mountains. Breckenridge Brewery’s portfolio contains popular classics like Vanilla Porter, Avalanche Amber Ale, Agave Wheat and a variety of specialty beers including December’s Community Handle pick, Christmas Ale.

Every month, Genuine Concepts looks forward to the opportunity to give back to the community and show support in anyway possible through the partnership of close brewer relationships and its local customer base. Come help support Central Arizona Shelter Services by ordering a Christmas Ale anytime during the month of December at The Vig, The Little Woody and Linger Longer Lounge! Tis’ the season to cheers and give back to those in need this holiday!
