Friday Bites with Heidi Lee

Heidi Lee is a local entrepreneur, chef, caterer, writer, radio personality and food enthusiast. Her mission to inspire Phoenicians to support local chefs and artisans in their culinary craft by frequenting their establishments. (Sound familiar? It’s just one of the many reasons that we adore her!)

You can catch her show and show your love for Into the Soup by following them on Facebook, tuning into KWSS 93.9 FM on Saturdays at noon, or sending Heidi a Martini (Vodka with Blue Cheese Olives, please) next time you catch her bee-boppin’ around town.

Let’s learn a little bit more about Heidi and some of her favorite spots around town!

Friday Bites with Heidi Lee!

Best place for the Perfect Martini | Durants

From the low lights to the red, puckered leather and the back-door entrance, this is an icon of Arizona and my favorite place to stop in for Happy Hour and a superbly made martini! I’m partial to Grey Goose, Cocktail Onions and Bleu Cheese Olives with just a kiss of Vermouth!

Best Place for a Burger and Boat Drinks | Rehab Burger Therapy

I walk in this joint and am instantly transported to my Island Days in the Caribbean. Their burgers are over the top and Executive Chef Ken Likewise has that taste sensation thing going on. Boat drinks rule and the vibe is total RELAXATION, MON!!

Best Place for Pizza and a Brew | Mother Road Brewery and Pizzicletta

Got my first taste a few weeks ago and FELL IN LOVE! Mother Road’s Pale Ale IPA was the ideal libation after 3 hours of foraging for ‘shrooms. Super casual patio, live music and food served from just next door at Pizzacletta! We had a charcuterie platter with homemade beer bread and one of the best pieces of pie I’ve had the privilege to pop in my mouth!

Best Place for Dinner with a View | Talavera at Four Seasons North, Troon

One of the most beautiful views EVER! Executive Chef Mel Mecinas is a dear friend and amazing talent. Not only that, he’s got a smile that will light up the night! He’s always so welcoming and a joy to be around. Oh, and his food doesn’t suck, either.

Best Place for a Picnic | Super-Secret!

I’m not giving that up!!! I will tell you this, though….never pack silverware but always pack finger food! A roast chicken is a favorite of mine; great bread, EVOO, S&P, tomatoes, olives, goat cheese, Salumi, a few bottles of Rose and a hot date! Blankets and music are a must!
