Ordinarily we wouldn’t tell you about an event so far in advance, but the Throwdown events always sell out rapidly, so you will want to move fast to make sure you can attend. If you are a lover of sliders in any form, you will not want to miss the Slider Throwdown happening on November 13th from 12pm until 3pm at Kierland Commons.
Local food trucks are coming together to create the best sliders they can whip up. Those sliders will then be judged by a panel of “slider experts.” Attendees will additionally have the chance to place their votes for their favorites via the People’s Choice voting.
Which Of My Favorite Food Trucks Will Be Competing At The Slider Throwdown?
You can expect to taste samples from Phil the Grill, Aioli Burger, Spice It Up, Buzz N Bee, Butta Burger, One True Love and more to be announced closer to the event.
How Do I Get My Ticket To The Slider Throwdown And What Does It Get Me?
Tickets are available for only $25 and that gets you entrance into the Throwdown and one slider from each competing food truck. Besides tasty slider goodness, you will also get satisfaction in knowing all proceeds from the event will benefit the Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation (AFFCF).
What Is The AFFCF?
The AFFCF is dedicated to giving children in foster care back their childhood. The organization has awarded more than $5.7 million to 26,000 children in foster care — and counting — in the state. Kris Jacober, Director of the AFFCF says, “We help these children through difficult circumstances by providing them with resources and allowing them to take part in enjoyable activities that promote self-esteem.”
With more than 18,000 children still in foster care in the state that need the public’s help, the Slider Throwdown is aiming to help.
